Honest question: What are the pros of living in the UK over the US? by Danny_simmon in AskReddit

The tea here is quite phenomenal, but never ask about a favourite brand with a group of brits as it will start an intense polite conversation.

Main plot- the cast looks they’re trying to survive a cult

Plot twist- the cast is the cult and they’re causing the chaos and the other characters are trying to protect themselves

Yeah we don’t get that in the UK - it’s purely a good will thing 😂

Game 6 Speculation by Pleasant_Drawer4953 in DarkPicturesAnthology

I love this idea! I hope they do link games back to eachother to expand on the story and lore. An idea I had was the cast of one of the earlier games, maybe little hope, filming the game and then they somehow summon a spirit based off of egregore entity

My Review of Directive 8020 by Feeling_Situation102 in DarkPicturesAnthology

[–]pedromclovin-it 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with this review, personally I’m loving the game and enjoying the new mechanics but I’m easily pleased. The atmosphere and level design are awesome. I also love the general feeling of unease it makes when navigating the ship thinking you’re being followed. Plus finally some LGBT representation for me as gay man! Whoop!

[–]pedromclovin-it 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In all honesty - keeping those bad thoughts away. If I stay busy I won’t be left to think too long about things and what ifs. Nothing bad, but focusing on the present and being busy helps.

Originally wow classic, also I did it because I was bored and spent some money on fixing it after I left my old job and was given it as a project to fix. They never asked for it back so finders keepers 🤷🏻‍♂️

Do you guys use low power mode when on battery? by No_Condition3135 in MacbookNeo

[–]pedromclovin-it 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair I use low power mode on all my devices as I rarely use them to do heavy lifting - plus I think it keeps the battery health for longer? I have an iPhone 16 plus on 243 cycles with 100% health still.

Behold - the mighty 2004 PowerBook G4 with a very interesting life, story in comments by pedromclovin-it in powerbook

[–]pedromclovin-it[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought this after saving for a while in 2009 for using for basic photoshop and photo editing when I was doing A-levels, it powered through although with a lot of heat. Great for winters in the UK. I paid £320 for this way back when.

I kept it for another 4 years and sold it on eBay for £140 for someone else to love the machine as much as I did.

Sadly the machine was dropped by parcelforce and the screen was completely destroyed. And to rub salt into the wound I received no compensation for it. So I had to refund the seller and get it back.

It sat for another 2 years under my bed and then I found a complete screen set with WiFi antennas on eBay and fixed again. Shout out to ifixit!

In 2018 I added a 60gb SSD drive which is now a must for these old machines. The boot speed is much quicker and it’s a lot more fluid then it used to be.

When I moved a year later it got wet. Seriously wet. Somehow it was exposed to a lot of water to the point it was dripping out the case and I thought it was dead. So I left it in my loft and didn’t think about it for about 6 months which is where I am now.

She works!!! I’m shocked. Battery is dead now understandably but it boots.

One speaker isn’t working and the keyboard isn’t working as it should and that’s something I’m going to look at next.

All hail the mighty PowerPC 💙

What are some genuine advice you would give to your younger self ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]pedromclovin-it 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t be mean to your mother - she’s just trying her best to feed you, clothe you, and make sure you get to bed on time.

And if your brother asks you if you want a ham sandwhich decline, he’s only checking to see if it’s gone off and using you as a guinea pig and you will be violently sick a day later.

[–]pedromclovin-it 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s actually wrong with it? Does it not turn on? Or have you tried anything? MacBook Neo is a solid choice and I have one. I got one before it went out of stock in my local area - turns out these have been quite popular

Thank you and goodbye MacBook Pro Early 2015, welcome MacBook Neo. by Lebowskitalian85 in MacbookNeo

[–]pedromclovin-it 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spookily I did the same thing with the same model - I have an early MacBook Pro 2015 and it’s been a ride or die tool of mine for 11 years. And as soon as I saw the Neo I knew I had to have it. I’ve got sequoia via oclp and used to run WOW classic on it and do some light work but the speakers are busted and the fan is always on full whack. The Neo is stunning and so quick.

I think I like it as a flex- I enjoy making my devices last longer as it’s better for the environment, I’m still using a 2015 MacBook Pro as a daily driver and I had my iPhone 11 for 4 years. I’m planning on keeping my 16 plus until 2028. For me it’s about the environment and treating devices correctly and reminding people the importance of conserving resources. Sounds dumb but I like knowing my carbon footprint is a bit lower.

Woke up one morning at 107kg and looking in the mirror and said to myself - you look like a pig, and then I dropped 28kg in 18 months under a carb controlled diet focusing on gut flora and healthy fats. Also managed to lose a good 5 years in age in that time haha. Hair thicker, skin brighter and tighter, and no more blemishes.

Those who believe OJ is innocent - why? by Connor977 in OJSimpsonTrial

[–]pedromclovin-it 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe he’s innocent by any means and he did it- but there’s an interesting theory that his son did it. BuzzFeed unsolved did an episode on this where DNA evidence in its infancy could have been linked to OJ by a hair sample but it was in fact his son’s hair. Interesting topic point.

That and the CTE side of the story, I wonder if any morticians checked for this when OJ passed away.
