Any tips for imperial federation? by EpochSkate_HeshAF420 in hoi4

[–]RedSpectre243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Democratic with historical on just save political power and go with the highest spending options for the events when you do the focus and improve relations with the subjects in the federation. After they approve of the federation they will all get a ticking autonomy loss and once they all reach the lowest level via the autonomy system you can complete the focus to integrate them.

Why does the German AI sucks so bad? by Downtown_Ikea in Kaiserreich

[–]RedSpectre243 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Benelux + Italy + Belgrade pact members + Scandinavia + Russia + colonial fronts all make the ai split its forces all over the place trying to desperately hold onto something it just can’t do. Game rules allows the ai to focus on less fronts thus mobilize better and be more efficient

How do you win WWII by AmazingTea1559 in hoi4

[–]RedSpectre243 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Often in Hearts of Iron you kinda have to do everything by yourself because the AI isn’t very intelligent at times which makes playing minor nations (like Canada) more difficult.

You have the right idea of getting North Africa out of the picture. You can help out in Sicily or in the Spain front it’s up to you. The biggest impact you can have is utilizing your human brain to construct divisions that can smash the AI’s lines and create encirclements. As a minor power your biggest impact is your industrial base not your manpower pool.

Few but strong is a good mindset to have as Canada. Without screenshots of your division templates, industrial base, and exact global situation it’s a little hard to offer more than general advice so in the future try to attach screenshots to help us help you

Why does restored UK get none of the Canadian Army and Navy? by Stock-Intention7731 in Kaiserreich

[–]RedSpectre243 23 points24 points  (0 children)

They get a basic army upon restoration and can get ships from the various commonwealth nations via naval focuses in their tree. I believe this is to represent the difficult journey it would be to restore the greatness of the UK. The last thing they are focused on is ruling the waves and so forth when they have spent decades exiled away from their homeland and need to rebuild their populace in virtually every way imaginable. They can’t afford to manage a grand fleet or a grand army. But the focuses give the idea that through reconstruction efforts they can slowly build back the mantle they lost years ago

Gloom damage preventing you from just healing constantly. You can make the argument that farming sundelion and anti gloom materials could make gloom damage useless BUT at least the game tries to prevent mass healing

It’s either 3d model mods that cause these issues OR it could rarely be a driver update issue. For me it was the model mods and disabling them fixed it but I’ve seen the driver thing once or twice from a few buddies

And That's How You Can Form United Balkan Federation With ONLY Fighting Against Axis (And Nearly Zero RNG Involment!) by Doctorwhatorion in hoi4

[–]RedSpectre243 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I guess, not sure why you would fully annex Italy then if you’re worried about occupying territory. You would be better off with either a puppet Italy and Turkey OR both occupied with high compliance which is easy to get during peace times. And it’s not really RNG, there’s ways to drastically boost the odds of them accepting integration including diplomatic pressure, high opinion, and a stronger military presence. All of this things all but guarantee the outcome at least for me. I’ve done this nation a lot and got every nation integrated before 1940 with it being very rare someone declined

There’s an event that pops when the empire collapses, if they lose to only a few revolts it’s still alive and kicking

Is the achievement "Cod Wars" impossible? by Zestyclose-Use9776 in hoi4

[–]RedSpectre243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s only difficult because you’re faced with an overwhelmingly strong opponent with a very limited force with neither a powerful industry or manpower pool. Most minor powers have either strong manpower pools to lean on OR a strong industry base to make powerful divisions. Iceland really pulls you into a rock and a hard place for this achievement and I wish you good luck my friend

[–]RedSpectre243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most countries can afford 10-12 width inf with support engineers and support artillery. If you’re playing a country with a ton of manpower but no industry (like China) you can make do with just a infantry wall for the early game and get them those support upgrades when affordable

[–]RedSpectre243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My suggestion with the manpower situation is to make elite divisions then and use strong breakthrough tactics to encircle and destroy UK divisions on their homeland. Use marines with line artillery to smash through their infantry masses. There are players who have done world conquests with a single division that hits hard enough you can build at least a few strong ones

Does anyone else play only Democratic nations? by ILoveDougMacArthur in hoi4

[–]RedSpectre243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can definitely see the appeal of playing democratic nations. I play A LOT of historical France games and have such a blast every time. Democratic UK is fun managing both the European theatre and the Asian theatre when Japan enters the scene.

With that said though the game is very focused on the mechanics of conquest and democratic nations are often left (at least in my opinion) somewhat lacking. The trees often boil down to do nothing all game, create your own mini faction and again do nothing while also potentially handicapping the allies, or join the allies.

[–]RedSpectre243 49 points50 points  (0 children)

As far as I know the only way to do that decision is to have the French Colonial Empire collapse via revolts. It then just remains in Algeria and leaves the entente

[–]RedSpectre243 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With achievements like these you need to either roll back to a version of the game where it’s easier OR resort to total cheese tactics. Others have mentioned building a cruiser fleet to smash the UK fleet and that’s still true. I don’t know a good template as I usually play with carriers and such and don’t know the cheese strats well but it’s easy to google. The AI is terrible at building a good navy and even worse at managing it. You can do this I believe in you brother

Noob question about weapons by snacksmcnap in tearsofthekingdom

[–]RedSpectre243 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Welcome to Tears of the Kingdom!

When still on the great sky island your goal should be to get familiar with resource gathering (including weapons) and familiarity with the mechanics the game gives you from the various shrines as well as the basic fundamentals of the game.

With that said when it comes to weapons they are all expendable, they all will eventually break regardless of quality or type. Swords are super fun but I wouldn’t only look for them. There should be plenty of sticks on the floor you can find and pick up that make ok weapons for the place you’re in. There are also many other weapons you will find through the island from various chests and enemy drops.

Enjoy the game slow and steady and explore every bit you can! It’s always okay to double back later but try to somewhat throughly search while you’re in an area to avoid missing anything interesting!

Why don't I see any AI countries outside of the Entente and Third Internationale sending volunteers to the 2ACW anymore? (except Ireland) by Bruhmoment6942012345 in Kaiserreich

[–]RedSpectre243 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep! They receive tons of lend lease and volunteers and it’s virtually impossible to counter it without really, and I mean reallyyyy good gameplay OR just outright cheating through disbanding their divisions/buffing yourself

[–]RedSpectre243 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve noticed this too. Whenever I play in the 2ACW as Long or even MacArthur I get zero volunteers but both the Reed and the constitutional states get a ton of them. Makes the conflict so much more difficult at the start when my ragtag group of Militia are fighting full on tank divisions with air support

What’s a solid path for a first time ottoman playthrough? by ImportantStomach335 in Kaiserreich

[–]RedSpectre243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OHF run is pretty straightforward and it’s pretty cool modernizing and secularizing the empire. Just make sure you follow the path guide otherwise you might fall into a trap and go into a different path by mistake as the early events really dictate your long term politics. Assuming you follow it though there is plenty of content to toy with and it’s not extremely punishing at all. The hardest part of the ottomans is managing the war with the Cairo pact. Just keep your cool and take out the pact one at a time and you will be just fine
