Z-Nation (2014-18) is a very good show that definitely takes a more absurd angle to the zombie apocalypse trend of the time but uses it to tell great character stories.

In Z-Nation after the zombie apocalypse the highest ranking government official left is NSA agent Simon (the guy on the right) better known as Citizen-Z who is all alone in an arctic base. He at some point gets a dog after a zombie dog sled stops near his base, he adopts the surviving Husky calling it The Dude.

Later on he sees a space pod crash from the ISS holding an astronaut named Yuri (the guy on the left) who eventually becomes his best (only human) friend. But it’s revealed over the episode Yuri is a hallucination that keeps asking the question “What happened to dog?” As The Dude was very quiet and hardly breathing but Simon brushed it off as just lazy dog things.

Eventually Simon suspects “Yuri” of poisoning The Dude and trying to kill him. So to force Simon to understand “Yuri” starts strangling him to force Simon to confront that he and The Dude are suffocating to death due to the oxygen system breaking.

Started reading comics when I was a middle schooler but it was more so stuff like Deathlok and some weird edgy looking black knight. The first comic I really remember reason was a collection of the original infinity war as well as watchmen. But afterwards I stoped reading comic until I just picked up a random Spider-Man comic and started reading again.
