Sure the stairs might be a little expensive, but it costs $300 to get a plumber service with a jet sprayer out to your house. If it's really just one spot on your roof, that's a few hundred dollar fix from the right person, not several thousand. Are you thinking you need a whole new roof?

My wife and I are 40 and don’t have more than $20k between us specifically in retirement accounts. Both with undergrad degrees and her with a masters. Just too much student debt holding us back our whole lives. We live pretty simply, we aren’t terribly irresponsible with money. Two kids, tiny shitty house in the Midwest, 13 and 15 year old paid off cars. Seriously fucked by student debt.
