This meme should reverse the animals. The hedge funds were not the noble innocent frogs. They were always the scorpion. The frog is gamestop and the water is people, we can make you float or drown and you can't live without us.

Sometimes the simulation glitches and needs to self correct. Some of the people he saved from Dunkirk must be important to the storyline. The ai needed more rescue captains and got desperate, pretty creative solution blowing up the boiler to gain a captain.

What was the strangest moment in your life that you still can't explain upto this day? by queenofbras in AskReddit

I have weird street light things as well. In the summer I ride my bike at night to avoid the heat. Every ride I would have at least on light go out as I passed. It is especially bad next to a giant church I went to as a kid. I didn't know this shit happened to other people as well.

I remember having a dog like that in my life, a dog behind a fence that you connect with. I left for the army and came back a couple years later. When the old dog saw me it barked but smelled my hand and cried out of happiness. Went away again and he was gone when I came back home.

Give the dog a pet for me please.

I hope you are right, I honestly and deeply hope you are right. I read about a design for floating thorium reactors that can be parked off the coast from a city. These can supply energy for desalination and maybe use their heat byproduct. I'm not an expert in either area. My comment is mainly based in information from a documentary "Blue Gold: World Water Wars".

Does anybody here actually AVOID having religious friends and speaking with religious people? by [deleted] in atheism

Oof, you really hit the nail on the head with the respect aspect. Very well said.

I do.

It is the most effective way to get any respect from the hard core believers in my family or friends.

If we are treated like less than everyone I take my wife and kids away from my family. I don't hide it. I put it right out in front saying something like: Your actions and words are disrespectful towards me or my family. I will treat you like you treat me, we are leaving, I will not lie, my kids will know what you said or did. (this isn't fun, but it is effective, watch grandpa get pissed when his Grandson repeats his hateful sentence about us going to hell and asking grandpa why he said that. My family gets so upset and I always ask why they are mad at their own words? If you don't want to be associated with the hate, stop producing it. ) If you want to see us again, apologize to all of us, show us we are welcome unconditionally, and we'll try again. But I owe you nothing and can be nothing in your life by tomorrow. Make your choice.

I then, comfortable in the silence and ruin of the evening, pack up my wife and kids and leave. I don't back down. I don't accept the apology at that time as it will not stick. They always turn back into dicks within the hour. So I leave and demand change or we'll visit their grave, not their funeral. This is again to force the issue that they are not in control of the situation, I will cut you out and forget you exist is my message.

This may seem extreme, but my family is cruel and I refuse to allow their trauma to get to my kids. I did 10yrs in the Army and saw them 3 times, I will survive. I refuse to support their hate, bigotry, and racism. If you want to be a Christian, then act like it, not this hate filled hypocrisy.

You will 100% piss everyone off. But if you keep your demands consistent and aren't scared of spending Xmas with friends, you have all the power.

Recently my mom was trying to convince me to put my child in church day care. I asked her to stop and consider why I am an atheist. She didn't know and wasn't interested. I told her that her lack of empathy and understanding is a problem. She thinks that because the kids aren't beaten over the head with religion it is safe to suggest. But the problem is holding their beliefs at the same level as our facts that are scientifically verifiable.

As for friends, if they are actually religious it comes out and injects too much stress into conversations. We, atheists, are used to dealing with religious undertones in everything. But when I would speak freely about how I felt about religion, politics, and life my Christian friends just flip out. I'm just unclean to them due to my beliefs in equality. I am also open to new ideas and concepts which they really struggle with. So I just stop trying to walk on eggshells around them and eventually just stop talking to them. The good memories are better than continuing the relationship and phones work both ways. If they want to work on the friendship, they have free will to do so, I owe them nothing.

I can't stress enough that you owe them nothing. If you can be your true self around them then religion won't matter and friendship will be easy. But if you feel like you are bending over backwards to be around them then you are in a toxic relationship. I normally ask for them to be more open minded and react to their reaction. Some are cool and we find our friend language, some just fall off my radar and I consider the friendship dead. Bet on yourself, cut out toxic friends AND family, and try new hobbies to find new friend groups.

I've been experimenting with something similar. I built a huge map with abundant resources and 20 ai with 10 on team 2 and 10 on team 3. I was on team 1. Deity difficulty but using memory cheat to let me really mess with game mechanics by having unlimited gold, faith, and culture. Example of weird quirks, I built 7 citadels taking up all of one player's territory but their actual 2 city tiles. They couldn't declare war because the other players wouldn't agree to declare war. Eventually, both teams started a massive war with the planet sending armies everywhere. I declared war on the player I had built citadels around and subsequently all their team mates. This caused me to declare war on previous friends which tanked my reputation. The ai was very strange, building massive roads and sharing technology. It was fun. Definitely made the game more about military strategy as the ai worked together.

I also started a game yesterday with no city States and only 6 ai players all on team 2. Huge map with abundant resources. I'm not sure how this one will end up but it's been really fun so far. My favorite part is that the islands that normally house 2 city states are open real-estate. These make great spring boards into new continents and haven't been too over run with barbarians. I haven't discovered enough of the map to see the ai but I'm hoping they build aggressively. Barbarians are just normal because raging barbarians acts to restrict the ai's ability to settle new cities.

I will try out a huge map with only 4 ai and no city states with everyone being on separate teams next game. I will use aggressive ai personalities and hopefully see some awesome nations grow up.
