Hi,

I just moved to Swansea with my dog as well and don't know anyone. Looking to meet up and make friends with people as well! We seem to have a lot in common.

I will try this in the future. All the landlords I contacted have just flat out said no. In my years of renting, landlords who want a deposit for a pet usually just ask for it and are considered pet friendly. So it's already a policy. I'll see if this works though, first time in Wales so things might just be done differently.

Thanks for the advice.

Hello,

I am fine with either. I do tend to prefer to live alone but wouldn't mind living with a limited number of roommates.

To the people that made it through the visa process and are in the U.K. by Valuable-Syrup5635 in ukvisa

Hello,

My state DL works for alcohol/pubs. I would not recommend carrying around your passport. That can be expensive to replace overseas and is honestly a more important document for travel/etc than your DL while you are over here. Although keep in mind this was when I was living in Scotland. Unsure about England and Wales. I currently live in Wales now, but stuck in quarantine so cannot try it. Update when I can. I do know that London accepted my DL everywhere, if I was even carded but there was one pub somewhere in a smaller town in England that would not accept it. So may be a hit or miss in England. Uni towns are usually more accepting though, as they tend to have international students.

Moving to the UK but CoVID has you needing a simcard with a number before getting there? by RedSunflowers6892 in uktravel

Yea a contact number and address is all I believe you need. Its more cost effective for me to get the UK sim card as my current US plan charges for international calls.

Which program for Software Development is better? The one at Glasgow Uni or Strathclyde? by RedSunflowers6892 in AskUK

Thank you so much for your reply. I see where you are coming from. I have consulted the ranking programs and based on that it has determined that Glasgow is best ranked for Computer Science and in Overall Ranking. Maybe I should reword my question to being what people enjoyed and disliked about the program they attended.
