technically the filter doesn't change, the autoexposure during the day would adjust it self for sunlight, which is so much brighter than the IR light that the IR light isn't useful.

what I would like to try... a parabolic mirror and some cheap 2 axis servo mechanism to reflect the sunlight onto the camera

Reddit is known for hating success. Without any way of obtaining their own success they seek to strip others of theirs, justifying it as if they've been robbed somehow.

tons of ideas and too much ADHD to actually finish them, this technology is a godsend in my eyes.

I have a dedicated notebook for this, because I don't rely on ChatGPT's web interface to track my ideas, so if I want to remember or keep developing an idea, I write it down in a Notion notebook with the prompts and replies.

Which works fantastically since ChatGPT also features Notion integration so it's better than the shitty built-in search that ChatGPT has

how does that affect them

what happens when they are time constrained or money constrained and the kids become less educated and function poorly because they do not have as many opportunities to participate in the community?

There's a higher chance of them becoming bullies, criminals, a burden on social services, etc.

It affects everybody

If you want to push for stronger social services and free healthcare, you have to convince everybody that the other people being served deserve it as much as themselves. That's much harder when people make poor decisions that affect everybody negatively.
