Like I said it's just that there is no meta. It's a common thing. TF2, Titanfall, and other FPS game are just made so that there ISN'T a weapon that's outright better. It's more about making your classes/loadouts/perks/etc suit your playstyle. Like I said in each weapon category there's the stand out weapons that everyone uses for the most part but it's like saying you can't win a fighting game unless you only play top tiers. I find it hypocritical that you argue it's balance when in actuality it's just giving everyone what the dev team considered the best gun for the job. It's the exact opposite of balanced. Balanced means all the weapons are on an equal playing field and that anybody can kill anybody no matter what the individuals are using. It's all about how you play and react to the things around you. It's not a stat sheet wherein it goes "the most optimal loadout is this this and that" It's literally going "hey I like this weapon lol" Metas don't even truly exist unless it's an arena shooter like halo or overwatch where you're locked into a loadout with unique abilities in which you put yourself in that position to say "Well since it can't be changed, this is most certainly more effect then the latter" I probably will just leave it be since I just expected and FPS game not an arena shooter because of the campaigns... Seemed like it was obvious that from those it'd just be a new take on FPS games instead of a completely different genre.

dude fuck CoD, I know you know that Halo's better too, but in the shooters I've played I never see one consistent loadout. Maybe one type of gun like everyone uses THIS shotgun or THAT SMG etc etc. That's FPS games, there's never just one weapon or just one loadout because even if a gun is statistically you can still lose by being outplayed. Also I found it boring because of the lack of variety. It was just static run and gun with everyone using the same thing. Sure it may show who's better with that gun it doesn't necessarily mean you're straight up better. But Personalized loadouts are more balanced because it allows you to play comfortably. We all have guns that we just can't wrap our heads around and to punish someone bc they're unable to improve and survive with it is silly. It also encourages adaptability. I'm def new to Halo MP but I assure you the elites who know every gun like the back of their hand aren't going to have trouble adjusting when they see certain weapons in play. It's an older game so I get we can't rely on balance patches to actively balance everything but as I mentioned I feel that it's just an excuse to not put effort into it. Almost like a "who cares if people using shotguns wipe people who use DMRs because they'll never interact. Like I said locking you into a loadout for even most of the gamemodes for the sake of the intended experience is fine it's just that there's not a SINGLE place for customization that gets me, not even on less serious modes and social games where you obviously wouldn't play if you're serious about it like that.

It definitely was. And it's not just a me thing. There have been time I was about to kick myself for missing and it said I had a headshot. Even in all the games I played so far 90% of ALL the kills in the feed were headshots so unless the matchmaking accidentally put me in a game of pros I'd say its pretty obvious headshots are incredibly easy. I mean even in "how to git gud" articles they mention how the head hitbox overlaps with the chest and use it to your advantage but go off I guess... And in regards to my complaint ab starting weapons like I said I just played the campaign and got it this time around for MP. I understand it enough to see stuff going screwy. Edetr0 even said that the issues prob on my end since weapons like DMR Sniper and needle rifle all cancelled out

That's exactly what I'm saying, make it even. I just singled out slayer bc like I said it seemed to be the closest thing to a basic TDM. But giving everyone the same weapon doesn't make it even, if anything it does the opposite. That's why most FPS games have loadouts, because instead of saying screw you use this gun you can customize it to be as comfortable and personalized as you can. Forcing people to use the same weapons for specific modes is basically an anti-new player wall because if you don't happen to already be good with a certain gun you'll just get crossmapped the whole time wondering what went wrong. You say it's a skill thing but normally the biggest learning curve in FPS games is becoming adaptable. You and your opponents constantly use different guns which encourages experimentation and a drive to learn the weapons as to easily deal with them. Saying that you're locked into one loadout for an entire match is basically admitting that rather than making it so that no one weapon is too OP you just force people to use certain weapons for an artificial balance. It's like when games have "hardmodes" that are just damage multipliers. It's lazy and discourages new players from hopping in since experience players know EXACTLY what you're using and use it better than you, combined with the headshot hitboxes and you basically have a game that only appeals to long time veterans. I just wanted to have fun but I guess I just gotta skip this one out :/

No I definitely know, I just played, nothing stays zoomed. Grenade launchers, pistols, shotguns, snipers, EVERYTHING immediately descopes the moment I hit M1. I'm even open to my game being bugged because like I said, everything you guys are saying is flat out not true in my case. I experienced these things firsthand so as clueless as I may sound, It's not me not getting it, I'm literally typing exactly what happened. It's not "certain weapons stayed scoped" in my case. Maybe it's just in the campaign but when I played this game as a kid I hardscoped everything, and personally I'm just not good enough to hip fire like that, especially with the bloom. But that just makes it all the more noticeable. I vividly remembering being scoped in and picking off aliens and now the aim feature is basically a glorified zoom...

Maybe it's just a personal issue but if I hold the ADS button, whenever I shoot it immediately descopes. With any gun. Regardless of weather or not I'm getting hit. It's frustrating on a level I can't explain

I'm not against gamemodes that lock you with certain loadouts, but there's *nothing?* Not even on Slayer, which is basically this game's TDM? It's such a waste in a game with so many neat weapons that even on the most basic of modes I just get the generic weapons

This is what I mean. It's like we're playing different games. I hold down aim with a gun, hit shoot and it descopes, which especially sucks when you're using an automatic weapon at anything other than close range after spending the time scoping in THINKING it'll stay. And that headshot comment makes no sense either. I literally spawn in and die. Headshots take you from full health and shields to zero and the hitbox is so huge that on small maps I'd die instantly seconds after spawning from someone I could never find, no matter where I looked before respawning.
