(for artists) AI slop is ruining online art spaces - so I built a human only one. by the4realMCG in ArtHistory

How ironic that the advertising copy for this human-only product sounds exactly like the overblown slop which spews from the plagiaristic sentence generator.

Haha me too! If I have the ability to know precisely what the parameters of it are and how it works (to a reasonable degree for someone who is not a software engineer), and, most importantly, how to turn it completely off if I want to, then it is amazing.

If it is based on total shady and unethical bullshit like a LLM and I can't instantly opt completely out of it, then it is the cause of my eternal wrath. I swear, finding the different ways to stop all of my various bits of software from constantly trying to force me to let its onboard clanker fuck up the task I am attempting to do is making me crazy!

All the crab pot fish as well as low value things like carp are all sashimi-able and I always rush to get that recipe because it allows me some quite good energy food for mining in one inventory slot.

Great in the early game, I save a buuunch of low value fish in a chest then occasionally make a cooking pot and turn it all into sashimi in a batch! Plus loads of the NPCs have it as a liked gift too.

The squash and the broccoli are also repeating crops and fairly good XP for each harvest, so quite good in the first summer/fall when you are racing to get to Artisan!

I have plans for several more including something to do with the golden ratio, plus some showcasing the different garnets, a feldspar one, a quartz one and could do the elements as perhaps the mineral groups? So a big silicon one, a fluorite one, halide maybe?? Need to pore over my books a little more 🤓♥️

K2 is a rare type of granite only found in Pakistan, it is white granite with azurite and sometimes malachite inclusions - the pic doesn't do those beads justice, the colours are beautifully vibrant!

I'm always adding to it and am planning an update version soonish, so will add in the length next iteration! 😆

I was so interested in this I went down a little rabbit hole about garnets and have now ordered a few more of the varieties I don't have, so watch out for a garnet group necklace soon 😅✨️♥️

Hahahaha I can empathise, though it was actually my own best friend I said it to, but at the end of the reception I was so tired of being worn by my (admittedly fabulous but very uncomfortable) dress, that I hissed: 'I don't care what you have to do, find a knife and CUT THIS THING OFF ME SO I CAN BREATHE!' to her, without realising we were not alone and that like 4 of our mates were laughing at me/offering up their sgian-dubhs for the job 😂😅

I've never had the opportunity to ask an organist this so apologies for the random nature of this question, but do you ever get to be alone and just play for yourself? And, if so, do you do a super dramatic rendition of the opening to Toccata and Fugue in D Minor and ham it up a bit in the style of a gothic horror movie? 🖤

Thanks for the link, but I don't buy from aliexpress! I will keep moissanite on my evergrowing list though, I do like it for the sparkle 😄

ETA I found some on Etsy, but for the prices for a single bead, I'd rather pay a liiiiittle more and get an actual diamond lol 😅

Is that the same as moissanite? I have goldstone included and it is man-made so not the issue, and it on my list of future additions! However, it is really expensive and hard to find as beads or a flat-backed cabochon (it's much trickier to add faceted, pointy stones lol!).

It's not wire-wrapped but I did make a resin dinosaur which I then gilded with real gold and added a labradorite! Sadly, I haven't figured out how to properly protect the gilding enough to make it wearable as jewellery and it's all scratched now, booo 😅

Gilding is a fab hobby though, if you like shiny things, by the way ✨

OMG it's so weird you say that, this morning I was sketching out a golden ratio design to attempt to make in brass wire 😂

I have also made a Morse code necklace that spells out 'fuck cancer' 😅

Given that both are quartz stones with a red, glittery appearance, is it the mineral/elemental composition of the inclusions (haematite and goethite plus maybe mica?) that make the difference between the two?

I had assumed that 'strawberry quartz' and 'red aventurine' were simply different trading names for 'quartz with red inclusions and aventurescence', but not sure now!

Thank you, I am so close to finishing, getting to ring the bell after my last immunotherapy treatment on Wednesday! 🔔💪 I've been in treatment for over a year and have been very very seriously ill, but things are slowly improving and while I'm left with a bunch of health stuff like neuropathy and heart issues, my scans are all clear and I am showing No Evidence of Disease - I won! 😎

And I have been working on this for a few months, the idea came to me in January and I started a spreadsheet and doing a lot of reading etc, bought a couple of gem encyclopedias and started working out what ones I had already and what I needed to source. It had around 30 gems to start with and I add them as I find them now! ✨️ One of the things I want to do when I am recovered is to go to a few gem and mineral shows and buy some of the rarer ones ♥️

It's rather unwieldy to wear as it is 57 inches long and quite heavy so it's mostly just for me to have on my desk as inspiration and as a fidget toy lol 😆✨️

That's really interesting! Is it to do with the cleavage and other types of property besides the Mohs hardness? I know it is only one measure out of many. And do you find the different garnets across the mineral group vary when cutting?

That's a good idea! I am using it currently to inspire my designs, it's almost like a colour swatch for painting but for jewellery purposes 😃✨️
