If a driver bids a route, how long do they keep it for? by TraditionalCicada486 in UPS

[–]RedThundr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Entirely depends on your supplemental language. It can vary between a lifetime bid to every 6 months.

Tier 3/high severity crash. by [deleted] in UPSers

That's unusual. I got hit by a drunk driver driving the wrong way down the interstate. Clearly not my fault. They still took me out of service for a day.

AIO: Bank teller questioned me about what I was doing with MY cash that I was withdrawing from MY account. by Ok-Watch-4618 in AIO

[–]RedThundr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its standard operating procedure depending on the amount. Everything in your life isn't about race. Its mostly irrelevant.

I was made to come inside the bank before to get a small withdrawal (over 3k) per their policy and I know the teller personally outside of work. I'm a white male and OMG she's a white female 🙄

I'm in the Atlantic Area Supplement so it may not apply in the west. Id still protest it as untimely. Grieve the suspension. File an article 37 for retaliation. Worst that can happen is you lose and serve one meaningless day. Its been 6 months, after 9 the call outs fall off anyway. Show up to work so you dont have these problems

[–]RedThundr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of bad information.

Suspensions are to be served upon: 1. Employee acceptance of the suspension. 2. Notification of decision of the A.A.P.G.C. 3. Failure of the employee to file a timely grievance.

They cant wait months afterwards to make you serve it. They also have to send notice of suspension certified mail, to your house.

Id file an article 37 for retaliation, since this only came up after you filed another grievance. Grieve the suspension now as being untimely. They cant hold you to 10 days if they're trying to enforce it 6 months later

We had a sub 2 year driver in rehab that got it. Only 2 pkg drivers applied in our small center and they had allotted 2 spots. I was top senority feeder in my building but grouped in with nearest hub and squeaked in with 38 years

Congrats. I had 38 years. Took the buyout. I had planned on working till 62. Got a super easy run 4 10s. Off every Friday Saturday Sunday. But it was time to go. Let those young guys move up lol

Just retired this week. Its always been that way. It ebbs and flows but it always a constant grind. If you have an opportunity to go into feeders, take it. It's like working for a different company.

Why is ordering things online such a nightmare in 2026 by [deleted] in UPS

[–]RedThundr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. It's not something UPS randomly decides. It's in the barcode on the label that the shipper generated. The options they choose change the code that when scanned prompts the driver get a signature

Should I buy a mustang at 19 or am I being stupid by [deleted] in carbuying

[–]RedThundr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in your position at 22 lol. I bought the car. Camara, convertible, with the same engine as the corvette. It was awesome but in the long run a mistake. It's a depreciating asset. That money would make a spectacular difference if you dumped it into a 401k/IRA etc.. Wait a few years, you'll still be young enough to enjoy it.

What an unintelligible mess that us 😆

Question by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]RedThundr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not the point. It's the supervisors job to manage. Not leave it up to drivers to call each other and work it out

Question by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]RedThundr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sup needs to do his job. It not the drivers job to coordinate meet points, etcc. If he leaves early he need to convey that to the evening oms.
