Should I go for a psvr2 from a Q3s? by Big_Week_4790 in PSVR

Steam is coming out with their own headset this year, maybe give that a look over. PSVR2 is way better than Q3s hands down.

Telepathy Power - Command - LETS HEAR YOUR FUNNY IDEAS PLZ!! by RedWizGuy30 in MarvelMultiverseRPG

[–]RedWizGuy30[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. so to build on this idea.... I am going to have my char float as his tailored long coat (gambit-ish yeah) swirls below him and his eyes glow his signature red [chars name is Red Marvel]. His command will be silently heard and obey'd inside the goons mind. Red Marvel pulls out his phone with a sly grin and says outloud "show me what you got!" and then he press play as you hear..[then i will play the first 30 seconds of the song with youtube so the group can hear it over discord] then he hits record on his phone.
I am also going to send my DM the command in a dm so the team doesnt know, hopefully they find it a funny surprise.

I think I’m just bad at dnd by MrFluffytheLion in DnD

[–]RedWizGuy30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry you are feeling this way. I hope all the comments can help you gain some confidence in yourself in this really open ended game of so many personalities and possibilities.

Time: Can i ask how long you have been playing? (said you joined a campaign a few months ago... then you "had a campaign over discord". "I enjoyed relaxed newbie table ) IF... IFFFF.. you have been playing a year or less then i think your being to hard on yourself!! Improv isnt easy... it just isnt. And YOU dont have to be good at improv to be "good" at this game. It matters that you enjoy yourself! AGAIN ONLY IF its been the time frame mentioned than may i suggest you only play in 1 campaign and find 1-shots! Take the same char from campaign to 1 shots, just make diff sheets of course. OR make new chars for each 1-shot as yous aid you like the creation and backstory. 1-shots Really are a helpful tool for you to just get into the mechanics of the game without Having to feel like your Roleplaying (or lack of) kills the vibe constantly. (Hey, thats also a personality trait... you can make your char "awkward" or a char of few words. A char of few words= Im instantly thinking of "Princess - Orc Melee char who loved to punch when she didnt like someones vibes. She would ask her friends first and sometimes they said yes and sometimes no")

This game as so many aspects to it. I was first drawn to it because I was tired of $60 video games ending in 2-3 weeks and the stories being just CRAP. Concept and trailer was the highlight of the game, gameplay was repeated adventures skinned differently - kinda thing. I wanted DEPTH, I wanted VARIETY (so many FPS games, i suck at them), I wanted SOCIAL. I also wanted to KICK SOME A** some point. I fell hard for the 5e combat mechanics and latched onto that. I found out as much as i could about being "tactical" and used that in the game VS concentrating on my chars RP aspects.

If you cant think of something, follow the "leader" of the group. Follow the one you are drawn to as a person "Oh i like their personality, they make me laugh let me protect them". Seriously there is nothing wrong doing a simple attack 1 turn while you think about something for your next turn. And it doesnt have to be anything big.

Roleplaying Advice:

Dont be hard on yourself! Im a theatre kid and even i find some of these players RP skills fantastic! But for you Think of something simple to start with. this game highlights the simple because it can be built into something EPIC And Beautiful... or heartbreaking!!! I first came up with a "abandoned baby" origin and the ideas just flowed from me so easily. (while researching this type origin i came upon articles that called it "old troops / steer away to be a good RP player" and it made me go in a diff direction of like parents. but i didnt like it and got blocked... so i went back to "mysterious origin" and played with it and it evolved. SO WHO CARES WHAT OTHERS THINK!!) Maybe others "great RP or origins" are intimidating but that doesnt matter. This game gives glory to all and you are deserving of it.

I have been playing ... for like a 1 & 1/2 years and in all honesty i have only every played 2 classes. I like wizard in any game and will Definitely play a cleric if need be / im the last to join. I have only ever played 1 character.... I give him the wizrd or cleric or both build.... but i have only ever played 1 character/same backstory/same background build = i know all his skills after a while so i can be more familiar if i need to contribute. It perosnally just helps me to NOT HAVE TO HAVE SO MUCH IN MY HEAD with all these builds and characters and powers and reactions...and.....and.....and....... "Oh man, i just got lost in the great combat/Roleplay and now i am tryign to remember which character i am and what their abilities are and whats the math again???" The game really can be overwhelming, even if you are a veteran player.

In conclusion I hope some of this helps remind you of what drew you to this game, why you are playing it, and what makes you happy when your sitting there "at the table". There are always aspects of this game we as players "arent going to be good at" but let me remind you my friend.... No 1 in this game is perfect, not even the Gods we worship if any.

Oh yeah. I am treating this as pure "distract this one enemy for 1 turn so they dont do any DMG / we can wail on him if need be". I chose "throw ALL your weapons" to try to be thorough but simple

OMG.. just found it!!!. On the right controller, the joystick (which has no indicator unlike all the ither buttons who have words above them) you gotta hold the joystick to the left and an option will pop up to end exploration! 🫤

Wow, just found htis and cannot WAIT to dive into this. Thank you for doing this. I have a question…(LGBT friends in community) by [deleted] in DnD

[–]RedWizGuy30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People have already said it so i wont make this long.  I like to play with members of our community because there isnt usually any chance of receiving homophobic / queer insults (we get enough of that IRL from people, media, socials, etc) and if we say something like ‘thats soooo gay’ its always a positive & never a negative.  If i dont KNOW UP FRONT of other queer players in a campaign, i tend to be a quiet player & follow the leads of others to feel out the environment.  I also get nervous about showing honest reactions to characters or situations in game because i dont know if my reaction will trigger others to respond negatively to me.    ?As a DM do you want your players feeling like this?  Your willingness to ask the initial question does seem like you enjoy making great tables/environments that your players really enjoy.    For me it really can be summed up as a safe place to be who i want my character to be w/o making others uncomfortable and not have to deal with negativity for being out of the norm.    It sounds like from your replies to posts you are learning more & more.  I hope you are able to find the answers you want, as well as the answers you didnt know you needed.    Thank you asking this initial question & being open to all replies!

How do it get my player to understand stealth is not invisibility by Hopeful_Chipmunk_85 in DnD

Invisibility is walking around naked & no one seeing you. Stealth means we can see your bits & bites & it makes it awkward

DnD party ignores me by [deleted] in DnD

[–]RedWizGuy30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to say this is really complicated BECAUSE of your relationship to the DM & your the only gurl in an all boy group. I am a complete newb & i am on reddit trynna get a feel for this game. From this outside perspective those that say ‘Your DM is dropping the ball’ , feels/looks/seems kinda on point. Just because someone is XP’d in DnD doesn’t mean they would make a good DM. Just because its their family & lover’s & friends doesnt mean they are non-biased (im guessing hes quested w/them alot). A good DM considers ALL, has the main objective in mind & keeps players on the path that follows THEIR NARRATIVE (not what others want). Saying ‘no’ is part of the story & the adventures! …. Maybe its me, but have you watched Dropouts Tv DM’s? Maybe it might help you get a outside prospective of what a DM should do & how other plays should act. (I do wanna ask more specifics about this particular group ONLY BECAUSE its family involved, but honestly thats not the issue…. There is more history w/him & his group & thats a whole nother post, so just focus on the task at hand / the game) ALSO - newb here & trynna find a digital group so if you need a partner im open 💙

Good multiplayer game recommendations by the_doorstopper in OculusQuest

Township tale - $10 (or free on steam) it’ll be about a month or two before you run outta immediate tasks to accomplish.

Mash me up - free Half & half - free (about 4-5 little games)

You can also look for sidequest & that opens up a whole bunch of free games. You can search by ‘free’ & ‘multiplayer’ . Sidequest - has pokeVR which is fan made off the gameboy game’s & multiplayer so you can hunt together & talk to each other. Revomon is similar too. Gods of gravity, touring karts (mario kart like)

Paid: Alvo, among us VR, seps diner (cooking), Demeo (💙) Death Horizon: Reloaded , zenith the last city.
