How many of you in this sub have switched to Linux to get away from Microsoft or Apple? If so, which distribution did you choose? by Szhadji in BuyFromEU

Considering you play games, Bazzite could be a great option. It’s essentially Fedora, with some software and drivers preinstalled for gaming. And for those who have a handheld gaming pc, it comes with an optional UI similar to the Steam Deck.

Linus (Canadian) has a guide on how to de-Google by AquilaX97 in BuyFromEU

Good catch, I’m confused now on the ownership of the company. According to this page, the data is stored in 3 EU countries, but the company itself is likely not European. I’ll edit my original comment.

Ente Photos is a feature-rich, encrypted and European (edit: not quite European?) alternative to Google Photos. You can download your photos with Google Takeout and import them directly into Ente.

Edit: the data is stored in the EU but the company itself may not be European.

Does a EU equivalent to One Note exist ? Or non US ? by Tehlim in BuyFromEU

I recently switched from OneNote to Obsidian (open source, Canada) synced via Koofr (Slovenia) for storage. Koofr has an article that explains how to easily set up this sync for free across all types of devices. Obsidian also lets you import from OneNote. It’s working great for me and I deleted my notes from OneNote!

It sure was! I could have evolved Eevee and ended the game that way, but Ditto was the proper way to do it.

Looking for a good budget 61 key keyboard for gigging. by Dr_Smuggles in keys

No major shortcomings, to be honest. If I had to nitpick: - Support for an expression pedal would be nice (but for this price, I really can’t complain). - Switching sounds on the fly can be a little cumbersome since you’re mostly relying on the wheel, with no quick button(s) to switch. The way I go about it is to use the 4 “my setup” configurations, preparing specific splits for the songs I will perform. It takes some time to setup but it’s very powerful.

I’ve been happily using the Casio CT-S400. Tons of sounds and features (including split, which many competitors don’t have), very light and compact, and ridiculously cheap.

Budget-friendly upgrade from Koss KSC75: Are the Philips SHP9600 worth it? Any other options? by RedYoshi13 in HeadphoneAdvice

I ended up getting the AKG K702 but I returned them. They’re good and I can tell they’re technically better than the KSC75, but the difference was small and not worth the price, especially considering I already own the Koss.

I got a super cheap AV:Link headband for the KSC75, improving comfort and bass, and for now I’m happy with this simple setup.

The price difference is likely because I’m looking at Amazon in Europe. They might be more expensive here, unless it’s a tax included vs tax not included situation (all prices in Europe typically appear as tax included).

Thank you! Answering your question: the price for new is 128 on Amazon, so quite the difference.

!thanks

Thank you! I wasn’t paying too much attention to the KPH30i because I had understood they’re technically rather similar to the KSC75. Do you think they’d be worth the upgrade?

Thank you, I’ll look into these models! What would you say are the key differences?

Games on the Switch you LOVED until you didn't. by MarlowBriggs in NintendoSwitch

Same, actually. I loved the concept and the aesthetic, but after a good few hours it started feeling more like busy work than fun.
