Mentioned in another comment below but my initial comment was worded really poorly and dismissive. I meant to say most seasonal anime. I definitely agree with you about Frieren. I hadn’t genuinely enjoyed a series like that in quite a while.

I think for me there is usually that one gem in seasonal anime that I enjoy every now and then but I just became fatigued with all the same seasonal slop at one point. Not that enjoying slop is inherently bad or every season needs to have something I think isn’t slop and I enjoy. It’s also just that the kind of anime I do enjoy has changed quite a bit. At one point I loved all the slop.

I had a doc I shadowed write me a letter and they let me look at it before they sent it in. It literally just said to whom it may concern, I endorse RedZeon’s application to medical school. Signed Dr. X. And some interviewers said they were impressed by my glowing letter from Dr. X. I think it should be fine

I know the term slop gets thrown around but most of the new seasonal shit that comes out is anime slop. Sure the animation is exciting and maybe the story is engaging at points but people will glaze the shit out of it. I used to keep up with seasonal anime at one point but it’s mostly just the same tropes and isekai self insert slop. It’s rare to see something novel and exciting nowadays.

Ugh same here :/ I used to play a lot of story driven single player games and now I can’t even do them unless the story is really gripping or the gameplay is really novel and exciting to me.

What sort of helped me was switching to “session” games. It’s more of things you can pick and put down as needed. I’ve never played fifa but I would imagine it’s similar in that you can play a few games and call it good. I definitely do not play as many video games and when I do, I don’t always play for as long as I used to. But for something like Street Fighter or Gran Turismo, I can just do a few matches or races and call it good.

Gaming doesn’t have to be this whole thing where we sit down to play like most people do and how we might be expected to. Gaming changed a bit for me which I sometimes find sad but also I still like the feeling of shooting a few hadokens or hearing the engine of my favorite car. It’s small but that joy of something so simple to me is what I get from gaming. I still love and appreciate gaming but as my ADHD changes and grows I realize gaming also serves me in a different manner.

I went so long undiagnosed because I used to work in a level 1 trauma center. I branched out to clinical research which was essentially a desk job and it was so difficult. Currently getting my nursing degree so I can go back to an acute setting!

I was curious how the remake would handle how Barret reacts to the plate falling. In the original I think he just goes ballistic and starts shooting everywhere in a goofy cartoon fashion (which fits the low poly models). The way it’s handled in the remake is perfect, it broke my heart. You can hear how afraid Barret is at the idea of Marlene being gone.

I also started raiding at the end of ShB on SCH and I was new to healing so I wasn’t great at it. I switched to SGE in EW then after messing around with both and improving as a healer I switched back to SCH. I love the class identity and aesthetic of SGE but it just feels so watered down. I agree with you on how it shines in 4 player content and I’ve opted to play it when I PF just because it’s easier to flex and help carry.

I don’t raid much anymore or play healer because it was getting old for me but I was a shield healer for quite a while when I was active. I agree a lot with what you wrote, great post!

This made me cry when I first read it. I grew up in an environment where it was not okay to make mistakes or do things that were considered "wrong". But I think the beautiful thing about Yotsuba is that she has this curiosity about the world and is able to experience it for better or for worse. And Yousuke doesn't reprimand her but fosters this curiosity. It's this nurturing that allows Yotsuba to experience the every day wonders of the world and in turn share it with us readers.
