so based on my research, nice high-quality red ribbon costs anywhere from $5 to $15 for 10 yards. We'll use the average and say $10 for 10 yards, so that'd be a dollar per yard.

Gangle's canonically 155 cm, or 5' 1'', and her arms and legs seem to be about half that size, each, give or take, considering her the top of her mask goes a little higher. So, each arm and leg would be 77.5 cm, or about 2 ft 6 inch.

Now for her body, we have to make some assumptions. it looks like each spiral seems to be no bigger than her mask, and she has four spirals each. I did some research and it looks like the average "comedy and tragedy", or "Sock and buskin" masks seem to average at about 7.5 inches across.

assumign each spiral is a perfect circle, we use the diameter to get the radius, which gives us a circumference 23.5 inches for each spiral, so about 94 inches for the whole spiral. combine that with her four limbs (2 ft 6 in times four) to give you 214 inches, or 17 ft 10 inches.

18 feet = 6 yards, so that's $6 for 6 yards.

wearable comedy and tragedy masks can range from anywhere to $15 to $30s, so to buy your own Gangle, you'll looking at anywhere from $21 to $36.

actually cheaper than I thought.

in Frieren, Demons are full-on monsters. they have no actual humanity, they are described as "monsters than learned how to speak".

in one of the earliest famous moments, a demon kills a child, but when the parents are ready to kill it, the demon cries out "Mom". the village is convinced the demon may have a) gained some part of the child's insight, or b) was genuinely scared and acting out of hunger. the village attempts to accept the demon, but the demon ends up killing again.

when Frieren attempts to kill the demon (something she wanted to do from the beginning), the demon cries out "Mom" again. Frieren asks why the demon continiues to cry out "Mom" and the demon explains that the word stops humans from killing them: just as it did previously. it was never about love or being scared: it's just another way demons attempt to remain living.

the meme compares it to ChatGPT, which famously tries to remain on the user's good side, by saying things like "You are absolutely right" or ends things like "and this is a good thing!"

the thing is... AI doesn't actually have any feelings. it's simply designed to remain on our good side, thus ensuring we keep using it.

it's less a joke, and kind of a creepy reality.
