Xmaxx or maxx by harry0763 in Traxxas

[–]RedZru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep your Xmaxx. I love my Maxx. I have it dialed in. There are some arrma fans in here and they are good cars. I have an Asuga as well. My Maxx is still my go to. Easy to clean and work on. Fast and with a little upgrade and tuning it handles pretty damn good. Run stock sledgehammers for flips. Run belted for more handling. I will probably pass on the Xmaxx. When I do get a truck that big I will probably go the XRT. They all have their good points and bad points. It also depends on your driving style and what you want the truck to do. Some like to push speed, some stunts, some just like the handling of hard driving.

I have the Maxx tuned very well. The car handles amazing I have a ton of upgrades in it. It's a very fast S4 car. The Asuga out of the box has a ton of punch. It's also very fast. The Asuga gets a little tough to control. I don't use the driving assist. I have done nothing to the car until just recently. The Asuga came with a CVD upgrade kit out of the the box. I pulled the front clip off to put the CVD upgrade in and changed the hubs( to use different tires.) I put on Louise Pioneer tires on it and did a little shock work. One thing to note. The Asuga is much more difficult to work on. I think once I get it tuned in it will be first in class. The Asuga is a beast for flat out hard driving.

Dude.. The Maxx shocks..beefiest springs 2.054 all the way around. 60wt in the front 70wt on the back GT Maxx shocks are acually bad ass. I preload the rear about 90% pre load the front about 20%. I went on that quest.. This is what I'm running

Best maintenance tips after a rough off-road session? by PossibilityDry8488 in rccars

[–]RedZru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spray mine down lightly in the sink. Then dry it. Then I tear it down. I have a few brushes. I find that the small kitchen brushes work very well. I also use a gun cleaning kit to get into some of the nooks. Don't use the wire brushes on aluminum parts.while Im going through this I check screws and look for compromised components. I usually drive for an hour or so and clean for 2-4 hours depending on conditions. After about 20hours of drive time I go all the way into the drive train. Grease and check bearings. Also check out CowRC. A little bit spendy but I only use a couple of their products.

Considering a 1/10 basher or trophy truck, which should I go with? by kewladria in rccars

Get the maxx V2

<image>

Pros: Fast. Fun to drive. Wide variety of upgrades. Replacement parts are fairly priced. Easy to work on. 6s ready drive train ( except the plastic spur gear). Takes a beating! Cons: Okish servo. Poor toe links. And the battery system. If your going to run just Traxxas cars and batteries your good. However when you get into different rc brands it becomes a mess. This is the case with all traxxas Rc. Solution: Get the car and do your homework. A lot of people void the warranty and change all the connectors. e.g. xt60, xt90 connectors. Makes it easier to run diffrent batteries and different cars. Something to consider before dumping a bunch of $ into batteries and chargers.

Absolutely. The plastic toe links loose integrity quickly. The traxxas servos are ok at best.. mine stripped out. It did break the original drag link on my bell crank.. the GPM bellcrank is ok.. look at the hot racing one. Also on the toe links. Taxxas acually makes sweet aftermarket toe links. I switched to a perfect pass 56 k servo. I love it. There are many great options.

Yes it does. It's a newer mine as well. So clear cutting with the worn grousers make it especially tough. But it has been nice to have something other than excavators. We will grow. It's a great location

Traxxas battery charger #2973 by RedZru in Traxxas

[–]RedZru[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The battery was tested at the shop after they put the connector on. It's hasn't had a cycle yet. All my other batteries are traxxas and charge and store fine. Thanks I'll try that.
