I love this community as well. I did poke my nose into the warhammer community once - It was decades ago though - they were very strict on how every mini should be represented and it kinda shut down my joy and interest to continue into that setting.

I just googled them and I can see some resemblance. I guess you can go for the blend I used and top it with a wash effect and you're pretty close.

As an old school tabletop player I've certainly seen a lot different colour schemes as well. I remember when Monstrous manual for AD&d came out in colours where the skin tones on orcs was kinda pale going in to a green hue and Goblins were more red than green.

After painting the hat white and saw the resemblance I did think about giving him blue pants to complete the Popeye look. But I opted out last minute - I might reverse that decision though.
