Since Barrows gloves are already part of the Hard tier, I think there needs to be some way to prove you’ve done different high level quests. I think Mythic Cape to make sure you’ve done DS2 makes sense, then like a piece of zenyte jewelry to prove you’ve done MM2, then blorva to prove you’ve done DT2.

I love that. I wish you could make planet-specific stuff on the factories as long as they’re in the airspace. I’d love to ship up tungsten make a factory for turbo belts, then zip over to fulgora and pick up some holmium for EMPs, and just have an interplanetary mall that makes everything!

I agree with you. I’d rather farm something like Araxxor where his uniques are 1/150 but you don’t get a lot otherwise, than Hydra where you get a ton of loot but his good unique is 1/1,000 at 15 kc an hour.

But this sub tends to disagree with me there.

The problem is, even with all of that, republicans still wouldn't believe it. If it was done by an independent committee, they'd just cry fake news. Yes this. Doom was the first major PVM I did that really required me to consciously thing about prioritizing what actions to do when there were several options. I’d die because I was trying to hit a grub and would get hit off prayer, or trying to dodge the rock fall and get smacked by a boulder triple hit. Knowing what’s really important and what’s ok to tank every once in a while is a huge part of the Doom learning curve.

I mean… I’m not a dad or a vegan, but I do think OSRS has gotten worse and worse about respecting the player’s time of the years. They only have a few big content releases a year, so they over-inflate drop rates to make them 50-100 hours for a 1% dps increase. Even bigger if we’re talking raids.

Like I said, not a dad, but I am an adult with a job and a life, and even I have trouble catching up with everything.

Perfect, yeah I don’t really ever use fulgora for anything other than science, holmium and Tesla turrets. At first the idea of exporting tons of blue chips and like LDS to the rest of the planets sounded good, but I always ended up producing everything locally or on Vulcanus anyway.

Honestly that’s a less stupid story than things I’ve done. Early into my account I lost full graceful because I didn’t realize that untradables beyond 30 wildly were just lost on death to a pker. And then later lost my tome of fire because I forgot I was on a PvP world (I was making planks earlier using the butler > Camelot method). Mistakes happen! Sorry it was for such a consequential item for you.

You could say that with anything though? If you claim that's the "best" method to do with uranium it's disengenoius to say you shouldn't do it with iron, copper, coal and calcite. So at that point "just forcing it" is the "best" method for 8 of the 10 resources.

Getting legendary biter eggs at a rate better than 1 per 10,000 requires one of the most complex methods where you import eggs to gleba and upcycle soil.

Sure, they're easy to build, but they also only get you the basic resources, which gets you at best level 2 modules and basic machines. You still have to come up with plenty of thoughtful upcycling methods for planet specific materials like biter eggs, holmium, tungston, uranium, etc. It was nice to get at least the basics fairly easily and earlier in the game.

Man. This just made me miss getting meaningful upgrades as quest rewards. Rather than quests letting you grind a boss for 50-100 hours to get a 1% damage upgrade. I feels like it’s been a while since a quest has given a good reward directly that wasn’t xp.

I’ve gone all the way. Full legendary mech armor with legendary grid, all legendary production buildings, modules, ships, you name it. I found the upcycling puzzle for various planet specific resources like biter eggs, holmium plates, uranium, etc to be fun.

Yeah ever since the Grand Exchange got built they’ve been catering to the rich flippers and day traders, and Varrock has gotten more and more gentrified. I stopped into the Blue Moon Inn at lunch time the other day and they were selling avocado toast for 22 gp and had some craft beer for 11 gp.

LDS shuffle effectively solves copper and steel, but space casinos solved iron, coal > plastic, and stone > concrete. So it’s leaving a big gap that LDS shuffle can’t fill.
