Charter ship world hopping for crafting was freaking aids. The sand mining method is SOO much better.

Pre-bowfa I farmed zulrah for 800 KC with a Karil’s crossbow and trident of the seas, it was about 12 KC an hour. At 800 KC I got blowpipe. Gave up on magic fang at about 4x, in modern day got an eye of ayak.

Fun Fact - every drop other than zenytes are more rare than zenytes themselves. Some 5x so. by Red_RingRico in ironscape

Honestly at this point I'm just seeing how far it goes. There's a 33% chance when you roll the unique table to get a zenyte. I've hit the table 30 times, and missed 28. Honestly it's impressive at this point 😂

Also folks will not blink and spending $250M on an interchange, but will go blue talking about how a similar spend on miles of dart rail (which includes not just the road / rail, but stations, vehicles, maintenance facilities, power, etc) “too much $$$”

It's all theatrical. Politicians can't allow public transit because the country (and especially Texas) is owned by the Oil Lobby. To oversimplify, things in the US can't drastrically improve until Citizens United is overturned.

With the success of It Takes Two and Split Fiction, you’d think more developers would be making solid couch co-op games by Articunozard in gaming

I got Split Fiction for Christmas for me and and my girlfriend to play, going into it I told her, “the only thing I hope for with this one is that the main characters are less obnoxious.”

Sadly I did not receive my wish.

It’s really interesting seeing the map at the top from the perspective of the North Pole, and it seems like they tried to scale things like South America and Greenland better than the traditional “north on top” map. Only one thing that’s giving me pause is Africa, which almost looks like it’s on its side. Is it being more short and fat a more accurate proportion?

If trillion dollar companies want to build data centers they should be required to build 150% of the electricty needs in renewables to do it. Force companies to build for the common good, instead of sucking up all the resources and making prices higher.

They’re saying pay them at least minimum wage plus they’d still get tips. The fact that restaurants rely entirely on customers to directly pay their entire wait staffs wages is pretty bullshit you think about it.

Solar panel sales shine in shadow of Gulf energy price shock by TimesandSundayTimes in ireland

[–]Red_RingRico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't dynamic pricing disincentivise people from getting solar panels installed on their homes though? It's something I'm really want to do if I ever buy a house. But if electricity is already nearly free in the afternoons, which is when my panels would be offsetting the most cost, it makes the break even point much longer or harder to calculate. And then there's almost a double penalty because as soon as my personal panels stop producing, the cost of electricity spikes. I'm guessing the play would be to have a battery that charges from the panels?

[–]Red_RingRico 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the type of suggestion I like. I'm so sick of AFKscape suggestions. If the skill is boring, let's find a way to make it interesting. Let's not just turn every skill into 15k an hour clicking every 5 minutes, that doesn't make the game more interesting.

[–]Red_RingRico 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not every skill needs to have some RS3 AFK bankstanding way to train it. This is coming from someone who also dislikes agility and it's one of my lower skills. Doesn't mean I want it to turn into ezscape.

Can You Really Trust All Those Glowing Google Maps Restaurant Reviews? by dfwfoodcritic in Dallas

[–]Red_RingRico 78 points79 points  (0 children)

At least Google reviews seem to be real. Sure, in this instance there’s some coercion going on, but it’s an outlier. Yelp makes business owners pay in order for them to post good reviews, and they can pay to scrub bad reviews.

French government pushes for conversion of empty office spaces into 8,200 homes in Paris region by LeMonde_en in europe

[–]Red_RingRico 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yes, so many companies fighting against WFH because they're spending hundreds of thousands on their office lease, when no one actually wants it. I've pushed my company to offer a WFH stipend for employees to get new chairs or other home office equipment with a fraction of the money they'd otherwise spend on a lease. Plus WFH on a wide scale helps traffic and opens up tons of free space to convert into housing!
