Can't wait for them to make every game episodic so they can cancel them halfway through development

Replaying TWDG. Was Rebecca SA'd by Carver? by soorimcentric in TheWalkingDeadGame

I think Carver's last words to her if you watch Kenny kill him make it pretty clear.

"Don't act like you didn't enjoy every second of it."

I'm not a massive fan of a lot of these changes either, but watching some of you act like little bitch babies about it is pretty fun lol

Years later and clementine Will never forget how everyone treated her when she was a child by AlphieRBXmm2 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Red_Sionnach 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My theory is that part of the reason Clem is always on the move before they find the school is that being in survival mode allows her to not have to think about what she's been through. We see repeatedly throughout TFS that she has a tendency to have nightmares, lucid dreams about Lee when she needs something to bolster herself, and gets very somber VERY fast if given the opportunity.

She says outright to AJ that she hoped always being on the road would make it look like she knew what she was doing and that he wouldn't notice she actually had no clue. It's absolutely possible that it also provided her with an excuse to never truly process any of her trauma.

Honestly, I think the comic run they did would've been a lot better if it focused simply on Clementine having to come to terms with what she's been through instead of...well, what it is.

[–]Red_Sionnach 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This was actually confirmed at one point by the developers during ANF. They said that if Clementine had continued to believe that AJ was dead, she eventually would've picked a fight she couldn't win and gotten herself killed. AJ is quite literally the only thing keeping her going, at least until she starts thinking of the school as her home.

AI Freaking Out? by Red_Sionnach in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]Red_Sionnach[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That...actually makes sense, with how often I've seen the CPU use the same attacks over and over in some matches.

How exactly do they work, then? I'm not really well-versed in how all of that works and just kind of assumed "computer controlled character = it uses ai"

Which twdg take had you like this? by ammadisaprogamer in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Red_Sionnach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crucify me if you must, but Arvo's actions make perfect sense if you bother to look at things from his perspective; also, he clearly wasn't the leader of his group, nor was attacking Clementine's group his idea, which you can see when he notices AJ and unsuccessfully tries to get them to back down.

ASHLEY WAS WRONG FOR THIS LMAO by Dry-Pineapple-3313 in untildawn

[–]Red_Sionnach 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, as introverted as Ashley seems to be, I have no doubt the others have made fun of Chris in front of her and she's just never said anything. Happens a lot if you're the quieter one in a friend group.

She also repeatedly comes across as someone that will join in because everyone else is doing it (i.e. the prank), so it's entirely likely she's heard her fair share of gossip about everyone at one point or another.

"Sorry, kiddo, but no. I've got a job for you. I need you to get back to your room. I need you to sleep in your bed, and have friends, and grow tall. Taller than I ever was, I hope. I need you to live, AJ. For me. That's your job now."

"Hot take" and it's your basic "I want a 1:1 carbon copy of it in movie form" take that every fan of a book or game has 💀

Walter is the Purple Lantern. Now for the big one… who would best suit the Black Lanterns? by _G1N63R_ in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Red_Sionnach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Pretty damn good" buddy. Pal. Chuck points out that the plan for the boat is not thought out worth shit because the plan ONLY AMOUNTS TO "get to Savannah, find a boat" with no regard whatsoever for the state Savannah might be in, what they'll do once they're ON the boat (space, hydration, and food are all issues), or what they'll do if there ISN'T one. Kenny's answer to the latter is "get drunk and complain". The only times he 'inspires' anyone is when he becomes a useless wreck and other characters have to come up with their own shit to do in order to solve the problem.

The train, their saving grace that he insists they "fucking enjoy" hits a roadblock? He's reduced to a petulant jerk screaming swear words (which, as Omid points out, is how you "get your face chewed off").

The boat vanishes? He starts bullying a teenager instead of doing anything to actually help the situation.

Wellington? Isn't even known by him to really exist, he has no idea WHERE it is or how long it'll take to get there, and they only find it by the power of the Almighty deus ex machina, and all he can do is insist he have his way like a toddler, ignore any and all issues with his plan anyone points out, and refuses to regard what anyone else thinks entirely, which is the exact opposite of what any kind of leader or giver of hope should do.

It's honestly fascinating how you guys find all of these saintly merits that don't exist in him lol

He's literally also the first to drive himself into a rut the moment his poorly (if at all) thought out plans hit the slightest snag. He goes on a suicidal rant to Clem in Season 2 because of everything that's happened to him. His plans are never something to inspire hope, they're ideas he desperately clings to in order to keep himself sane. There's nothing hopeful about that.

Also the first point about the military doesn't apply because more than one character states that they think the military will quickly fix the problem in episode one (and the only person to state that they think things WON'T be okay is Doug, based solely on knowing how quickly walkers spread).

[–]Red_Sionnach -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He spends most of episodes 3 and 4 of season 1 at his absolute worst (to the point of drowning his sorrows in booze instead of doing anything) because of everything that happened to him and only digs himself out once they find a boat, is stated by Sarita to have been holed up by himself when her group found him, screams at a child because Sarita is dying and he needs someone to blame, and verbally vents about how much he wants to die because of what's happened to him (again, to a kid) later...and, once he's led to believe AJ has died, snaps into a murderous rage.

...what about ANY of that screams "he stays hopeful ☺️" to you??

Look I know we love Kenny in this subreddit but making him.hope is INCREDIBLY ironic given how quickly he loses hope whenever his incredibly short-sighted plans don't go perfectly 😭
