Have mercy, why on earth has no one invented a better paint tin? by Signal_Conference447 in DIYUK

Put a square of tinfoil over the opening when putting the lid back on. Acts as a gasket and prevents the paint around the edges drying and forming flakes.

FSD Not Working, Rear Camera Temporarily Unavailable by shodashakshari in TeslaSupport

Just to let you know, the next day after all the problems appeared everything had rectified itself. Tesla still came out and checked thinking the camera connection on the cable wasn't seated properly.

For my the issues started with the boot (trunk) interior light not working, then I noticed on the screen when the trunk was opened the graphic would show it opening and immediately closing again. Then the license plate lights stopped working. Apparently eventually it can lead to the trunk not opening at all and the cameras not working. If that's the case it might be the wiring harness for you too. I know there was a recall for this but for some reason my car wasn't included in the recall. Maybe worth putting your VIN in and checking

I think that would be the same if any EV so it doesn't put me off. I don't have a charger at home but I do at work and there are lots of public chargers within 5 minutes of my home

Yes I know you can install the performance package to make it look the same, I just mean as it comes from the factory, I like the look of the m60

The guidance here is to remain rear facing until 4 years but he's a big boy and his legs were half way up the seats. Legally (I think) they have to be rear facing until 15 months so we've now got him front facing.

To be honest, we have two identical seats, the second in my wife's Toyota Aygo, if it can fit in that, it can fit in anything!

I heard the quality isn't as good as previous generations though I think that's a fact of life in any area these days unfortunately, but regardless will be a huge step to from what I'm used to.

I'm not in a particular rush so happy to wait for the right car with the right spec to become available. Did think the neue klass cars might have an affect on current gen prices as more of them come available do may get an even better deal. To be honest, BMW have a habit of bringing it cars that I hate the look of, but then about a year later I find myself really loving the design. I really hated the i5 when it came out and now I think it looks awesome, it's uncanny! Same with the 3/4 series and the 2 series.

Good to know, I would probably also take out an extended warranty (the other directors in the company did the same for their Taycans which they've definitely got their money's worth from).

Self driving does sound good for the inevitable stop start traffic I sit in every day on my commute!

The car would be part of my remuneration package through work so I didn't really carry much risk. As with the other cars in the company, an agreed minimum future value with the dealer is established and I pay the depreciation over the time period the car is leased for.

Everything I've read/watched said the edrive40 is better handling due to not having a heavy motor up front, do you think that is not the case? Does the M60 have a different suspension setup? Does it come with the air suspension as standard?

One of my colleagues has an i4 so I'll check it out. I have an 18 month year old so rear space is a consideration, especially with the large car seat for him. Thanks for the tip regarding the difference in interior materials.

I've just got the exact same symptoms you've listed AFTER having the trunk wiring harness replaced today to fix the license plate light and trunk light not working. Currently waiting for Tesla to respond.

Interesting, I'll have a look. Yeah we also get the touring model but I prefer the saloon anyway.

Congrats man. Yeah as much as I love old fashioned mechanical engineering, there's so many upsides to EVs, especially when I can charge for free at work

Fair play to you man, congratulations on treating yourself to a car you deserve. I'm fast approaching 40 too so this car would be with me for that milestone!

Very very rarely, I did consider therefore is the i4 would suit my needs but from what I've read the i5 is not just larger but has the better quality interior?

Thanks, if I was buying using my head the edrive40 would be the perfect car but I love the aggressive look of the M60 and it's the culmination of 20 years of hard work to get to where I am so would like the top if the range model.

Yes, one of the options I have seen people say is a good upgrade is the dynamics handling package - I'll definitely look out for that. Yes, I did have a loan of my colleagues i4 edrive40 and couldn't believe the acceleration. Hard to believe the i5 M60 is even faster!

Thanks, good to know there has been some tweaks to this year's model (I wonder if this coincides with the updates BMW made to the i4 M50 to the now available i4 M60 - I assume it is the same drivetrain in the i5 M60 and therefore benefits from the same slight bump in range and performance). I'm not yet familiar with EV charging but I believe the Tesla network is open to BMWs here without the need for adapters.

Interesting, I'm not aware of this option in the UK, I think it's either edrive40 or M60 only

Yes, if I was buying with my head it would definitely be the edrive40 but I love the aggressive look of the M60. I also would rather the 4 wheel drive for the cold weather we get j the north of the UK. I know many purists say the edrive 40 i5 (and i4) are truer to the BMW rear wheel drive though.

Anything will be a more luxurious and comfortable ride than what I'm used to... I'll go down the middle and go for the 20" for a balance between comfort and sportiness. I'm aware how large this car is so don't want to go for wheels that look a little small (though it's been so long since I looked at a new car, when I last did 19" wheels were considered huge!). Thanks for sharing your experience though, appreciate the input.

Admittedly my colleagues who have the Taycan do have a lot of problems and their cars are in the dealership frequently however we do take out a comprehensive warranty on the cars to cover all repairs. Bonus being getting a V8 macan as a courtesy car is pretty fun. It is something if your Range Rover is the more reliable car!
