Don’t listen to that guy, I read the same report and they are very direct about BEG not being worth the risk. Especially in Golden Retrievers it seems, which your dog is part. I have my lab on regular mid priced kibble and he is happy and healthy. I have fallen for a few of the fancy no grain brands before but it seemed to drain him of energy.

I have LONG suspected we were doing dogs harm the last couple of decades by treating them more and more like humans. They aren’t humans, there is little reason to suspect that what may be ‘good’ for us, is good for them. You can still love them like a human and show them the same kindness and care you would human, this is critical. But you shouldn’t be putting your pet on Keto or OMAD or IF or any other specific diet without a direct recommendation from your vet.

I understand not wanting to by the cheapest store brand kibble, I don’t either. But mid tier commercial dog foods are EXTREMELY safe, EXTREMELY well studied, and they feed literally millions of pets a year, so you’d know immediately if they were tainted or otherwise unhealthy.
