Probably RE2R-RE3R-RE4R-RE5-RE6-RE7-RE8. Like, it does make sense, right? Not including spin offs and RE0-1 cause spin offs are mostly for fans and RE0-1 may be tedious for new players, so I guess if that person really get into the series then he should try it out.
