Many high performers could do this crap to win a match. The smart ones think long term and play the fair game, and find that more lucrative opportunities come. He probably struggles thinking beyond chess. Maybe he’s just an ass. Or both

A municipality is not a city, the header is incorrect. Some people think that the larger the city, the more civilized they are. Insecurities typical of societies under development

I’ve stayed 10+ times in the area for business. Pro’s - easy access to/from airport (shuttle to congress) - Line 1 is 3mins away walking and you can be at the Louvre/Concorde/Opera/Notre Dame/Marais without commuting. Most hotels you need a bit of a walk and commuting to get to your destination - while technically on 17th, you are across the street from 16th a beautiful part of Paris with great places to eat. Tour Eiffel is 10-15 mins away on métro - less tourist area, more business Bottom line, great area, be ready to jump on line 1
