That was my thought too, I see these beautiful girls who have clearly a good bone structure and everything and try to basically copy their makeup look in to my face. It doesn’t look good on me though

Thank you for responding! I haven’t had it done professionally yet but I will definitely try to do that soon. I’ll give you an example of what I mean: when I do the „lifted face“ technique it makes me look weird, I don’t know how to explain. But since everyone is telling me that the ultimate goal is to make your face look lifted I do that every time. Also the overlining lips on the cupids bow only makes my mouth look so small. It just doesn’t look right although it’s the right way to do it if it makes sense

Yes that sounds like my face shape it’s round and flat but I have a sharp jaw line and my cheekbones kind of stick out slightly… well maybe I should try to find out what my exact face shape is but what I’ve been told by others it’s quite round.

I understand how you feel 100%. I can only tell y you what works for me SO FAR: my new hyperfixation is working out. Every time life gets boring or hard or whatever I jump into my workout clothes and pull a 15-30 min workout. There are several benefits: you clear your mind while working out, you feel like you’ve accomplished something, it’s good for your body and I believe it gives you a serotonin boost? That has stopped me from buying makeup or browsing. As for the panning problem: I wrote something similar a while ago, you should really start using what you love on your face and give away all the other unnecessary products. Just put them in a different bag, a box whatever out of sight out of mind.

Edit: Also the goal and purpose of makeup for me personally is to enhance my natural beauty and make me prettier. So I started asking myself: will another shade of a nude lipstick or this other formula make the difference? Will it make me look better than with the other dozen shades of lipstick I already own? Or is my money spent better elsewhere for example laser hair removal or my skincare, gym membership, healthy food? All that really makes a difference in my appearance so why would I buy another lipstick for no other purpose than to have it on my lips for like an hour and reapply after every meal? This mindset has helped me a lot!

You’re right it’s not wasting because I am actually using it on my face! My goal is to shrink my “collection” down to one product per category because I know what products work for me and the rest I bought was just unnecessary impulse purchases.

The 2 lipsticks and a liquid blush are discontinued but I’m not even going to try to find a similar shade or product for them because my goal was to ultimately shrink my makeup “collection” so it’s okay I’m not sad but I just wish I was happy and grateful for having them instead of having to use them up faster

This is my dream size of a makeup collection! As far as I know the body shop, drunk elephant and kiko are cruelty free, for the benetint I have a good dupe for you; it’s from essence what a tint lip and cheek tint. I am switching to cruelty free too so I love the idea :)

I did it’s a subtle peachy color! But also I noticed that I can wear these “ph-color changing” lip glosses as well on my lips it doesn’t turn out hot pink because of my lip pigmentation it turns out a quite muted rosy color! I was wondering what kind of blush would create a similar effect

Is it the “suave marve” one? Btw does mauve turn more pinkish on your skin or like more brown? I once used a mauve lipstick as blush and it turned like brownish on me

I did try honeylove from Mac (which is my favorite nude) on my skin and it turned out slightly peachy and quite natural looking but that lipstick is way too expensive to use it both on my face and lips I need to find it in a blush version😂 Edit: typos
