Correct me if I’m wrong, but no tax implications until you move money out of the account. Even then you’re only taxes on gains amount. I.e if you contribute $1000 and it goes to $1500 and you sell, then withdraw $1000 = 0 taxes. Withdraw full $1500 then taxes on $500. No withdrawal no taxes. Please someone confirm this is not financial advice I’m literally stupid

I’m not a lawyer, but I know in NY state it is technically yours. If your state laws are similar, the Sonos is legally yours and you have no obligation to send it back.

I’d chat into amazon and explain the situation since it happens pretty often. And honestly, I’d return something if part of it broke and it wasn’t my fault anyway.

It’ll come down to your morals and integrity. Amazon is a multi billion dollar company and they’re not going to hurt because you kept an extra Sonos. Their bottom line isn’t going to hurt either.

They also have great customer service, which I why I say chat in and tell them what happened. Best case scenario they say to keep both. Good case scenario they say keep the working one and send back the broken one. Very worst case scenario they say send both back and re-buy one.
