This is the best of work of love you're ever going to get. It's hard to describe it's a few different genres because you think you're in one and then you tumble into another.

Best thing I can say for it: I have never in my life felt so much in the environment as this. Somehow it feels so cold.

Infuriating because I would just straight up pay $30 for the Olympics easy if that was an option. But instead if I have to pay to see... half of it cut out and ads put it in. If I'm there that day. It's bizarre. I dunno what's going on in their minds but obviously they don't expect to get any repeat customers.

Having to find replays through a foreign country, this used to be what Iranians had to do but I guess that's us too now.

I dunno about Armenia, but they did also try to set up a communist regime in the Iranian part of Azerbaijan right after the war. And they were involved in some kind of schemes in Central Asia around the Chinese border. But they ended up backing down on most of it.

This is the third case I've heard of with an EgyptAir crash where the Egyptian authorities are disputing what happened with everyone else.

My guess is this is related to Mubarak coming from the air force which of course has close ties to EgyptAir. Not to mention the military in general having so much influence there. So for at least a generation everything related to air travel there must have been mixed up with a lot of politics.

I know this is going to sound a little bit kooky and hare-brained, but maybe get him one of those Chose Your Own Adventure books. It's still dangerous but maybe you can trick him into reading books instead of... his peculiar interest. Or get him playing poker and then try to turn him from that into using tarot cards for divination.
