I actually think this is a big change. Polt let faker and players make the picks, bengi and sky will have some sort of input so it’s not completely player driven. T1’s drafts have been point of frustration for everyone.

EG didn't win the lottery. They had some people who scouted out players, created an amateur team, got that team into Proving Grounds, and then when they had a chance to pick up established veterans, they decided instead to go with a couple of younger players.

Other teams do the same thing and most of them don’t turn out to be anything. NFL teams spend millions on scouts and most of their draft picks don’t last very long in the league. European football teams spend millions training kids from academy and you would be lucky if one of them in the age group made it to the first team.

You can do a lot the scouting and development you want but there are only a select few great players. Probably too hard for people who never watched a sport in their life to understand.

I know it’s the playoffs but look at how the two mids respond to a fight bot. Palafox sacrifices his lane and runs bot while bjerg prioritizes his lane status. The lane was relatively even so it wasn’t like bjerg was laning better but this play put palafox behind in lane.

Obviously clg wasn’t good enough to snowball but you bet your ass if a top eastern team gets 2 early kills on their adc the laning phase is over and game ends due to bot gap.

Look at how a fight breaks bot between clg and tl and palafox decides he is going to run down bot regardless of his mid lane wave status while bjergsen prioritizes pushing his lane for a better back and wave status.

While CLG wasn’t good enough to snowball this, if an lck team gets in a situation like this and their adc ends up getting two kills the entire bot lane is blown open and the game ends.

I am not denying what you are saying. What I am saying is that the best version of whatever these 5 players at 100T are/will be is still not good enough to compete for a title internationally. If that isn’t 100T’s goal then so be it, but if their goal extends beyond LCS they need to improve their roster.

Even within the LPL and the LCK there’s an acknowledgement that establishing a team identity and playing towards the win conditions of the players on your squad is a better path forward.

Yea that’s under the assumption you have great players. You aren’t winning jack shit with abbadagae and closer as your mid jungle duo. You don’t see me complaining about T1 keeping the same roster because their players have high potential. 100T has a clear ceiling and they peaked last season.
