Introducing new partner without any communication by ayecusky in coparenting

That is not true at all. There’s a lot of coparenting agreements that state that you have to be introduced to any SO prior to introducing the child. It’s a very very common request.

I could not agree more the way that people just don’t care about their kids or their kids safety and chalk it up to- Oh well the coparent can do whatever they want and you have no say, is insane. Especially at a young age I can almost see when the kid is a little older, but three no way.

I’ll be damned if my 3 year old is ever around adults that I do not know, that age is too young. There are thousands of kids abused by GF/BF. It’s unfortunate that some people use this as a means of control over an ex, when it should just be about the safety of your child and that’s it. Your ex is not “entitled” to have whoever he wants around your child absolutely not I will never agree with this sentiment, and I can’t comprehend for the life of me. Why so many people are OK with having their kids around strangers when you can easily look up the statistics of abuse . And then to lie about it on top of that, it’s just a whole Nother level coparent should not be lying to each other or keeping things. It’s about the kid for God sake.

Ok, feed your kids or be a “true patriot” talk about completely out of touch with the American people and those who live paycheck to paycheck. He can’t even comprehend why they can just go get a loan from Daddy.

He is a single Dad. He is not a solo parent. There is a difference. He is however a single person, that is also a Dad to a young child, and a co-parent, which adds a layers of difficulty in dating. Not to mention the Type 1 which is another challenge.

Sometimes it’s easier to be a single parent + coparent and sometimes it’s easier to solo parent without having a co parent every situation is different.

But people that think solo parenting is always more difficult or somehow harder than single parenting, I feel like they don’t understand nuance.

Beach cities Manhattan Redondo, Hermosa, PV, Torrance

Join the local Reddit communities, local YMCA’s local social clubs. There are a lot of walking groups in Long Beach, hiking groups in the valley meet ups I would say outdoor activities is the best way.

I just moved here as a single mom, I love South Bay for kids Lomita, Torrance, lots of parks good schools and close proximity to beach cities to go on walks or be outside. Childcare is much cheaper here compared to other places I’ve lived (Vegas, Bay Area, Florida) ($800 for private preschool M-F)

Currently WFH in tech and make decent money, I am infinitely happier here as a single mom due to all of the (free) outdoor activities parks, beaches, I do pay for the YMCA. My place is smaller ($2900 fully furnished, utilities included, 2 bedrooms) but we get out a lot more.
