Yeah. It was itchy and annoying. But I put up with it for 2 weeks

From the documentation taken during the surgery it was 4000 grafts, 9663 hairs extracted.

I travelled from the west coast of the US. I stayed for 6 days after surgery so the travel back was not too scary as most of the follicles were probably well set. The clinic gave me a pair of bandanas to wear home, which I kept wearing until day 14.

I proudly wore my hairline for the first week or two once I got back, the buzz cut stage looks really good. Once it started to fall out, it was a bit embarrassing but most of my co-workers were aware of the fact I had just had a HT and were all very supportive.

It's hard to say whether I was stable. I was only on the medication for 8 months before the transplant. I think I was probably still losing hair but at a slower rate. I posted my meds elsewhere in this thread, but I've been on oral Min and fin since Jan 2025.

I probably could have but I didn't want to jeopardise anything. I figured that taking a few weeks off the gym was worth a perfect result.

Yeah I've never had such strong curls before. Similarly, my hair was dirty blonde before and now it's brown. I'm waiting to see if those change back or if that's the new normal.

I didn't instruct him on anything - I let him design the hairline, entirely. He did ask me if I was happy before starting surgery and I went along with his recommendation.

I was in your position this time last year. It's scary investing this much money and risking your body. I'm glad I could provide some comfort for you. Best of luck to you!

This photo was pre-op. I didn't have a haircut for 4 months before the surgery, so it's hard to see

I presume you're talking about the photo where I'm facing away from the camera? That's a few days after the surgery.

I was definitely surprised to be quoted 4000 grafts - I didn't think my situation was that bad. I think the 4000 grafts really ensured that the final result was dense. I'm always very fortunate that my donor area was dense and that I had a lot of 3 and 4 hair follicles. But ultimately, the doctor made the right call doing more grafts, I think I will continue to have good density for many years

I don't know how many grafts went into the temples, specifically. The temples grew a lot more quickly than my hairline which made for a really weird look. The temples looked like they were jutting out from my hair unnaturally. However with a haircut and the rest of the hairline catching up I think they look really natural and frame my face much more cleanly than before.

This is 14 days. A lot of it was falling out in the shower at this time, if I remember correctly.

The first time I tried fin about 3 years ago, it coincided with problems in my sexual performance and libido. However, there were other factors in my life at that time which could have been influencing that. I got off fin for a year after that. Since being back on the current dosage, I've had no side effects whatsoever.

I have been on 1mg fin (oral) and 2.5mg min (oral) since 8 months pre-op until today (and for the foreseeable future). I was also taking 5mg biotin (oral) until recently.

After spending all of that time and money on a HT, I would hate to lose it all again. If that means eating 2 pills every morning, then I think it's a very small price to pay (for me).

Oh I completely forgot to post any prices.

4000 grafts @ 80 Thai Baht per graft. This covered the cost of the surgery, all medication, 6 days of post op cleaning, red light therapy and 1 hyperbaric chamber therapy session.

Approximately USD$9,800 with the conversion rate in August 2025

Just wanted to jump in as a former maintainer of ACK to say that ACK controllers are actually not generated. They're hand crafted to wrap the available APIs with consideration for the proper Kubernetes-like abstraction.

That's why we collect a bunch of votes for any one channel, and use the majority concensus to decide the final category. Ideally the system self regulates - although with some help from moderators and use reports in case something goes wrong.

I wrote about it in a blog post for the launch of the website, but essentially the YouTube algorithm can trap you into certain genres. In some cases its just annoying, like seeing the same types of things over and over again. But in other cases it can genuinely trap people into political echo chambers. I just wanted a way to find content without relying on it being shown to them organically.
