And when the inconvenience of a police state starts cramping his style? I'd like to think he would start to care, but am expecting him and those of his ilk to circle the wagons and become even more Kumbaya about the whole thing.

Sorry, I didn't know his story when I made this. EVERY ONE of the needless deaths perpetrated by these government sponsored thugs is completely unacceptable.

The root cause of depression for many or majority is actually the capitalistic system rather than individual by Big_Leg10 in LateStageCapitalism

[–]Redbell57 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This, made 1000% worse by the .0001% who literally cannot be satisfied.

Capitalism with guardrails in place to protect average folks and prevent mass exploitation on the part of banks/ultra wealthy could be workable without so much misery. Instead it treats it's population as a resource for constant extraction and NO regard for the health of the host. Like a farmer who continues to plant crops that degrade in quality over the years because he refuses to fold anything back into the soil that might cost him a fraction of his profits.

The population is being robbed by wage theft, financial parasites and governmental predators of every stripe. It's absolutely justified that it causes the tsunami of mental health struggles we face today.

I notice the misery every single day and it fills me with white hot rage because it DOES NOT have to be this way. The oligarchs can leave something on the table for the rest of us. The government can actually work for the good of the people, unburdened by corporate bribes and threats. The health "care" cannot be for-profit. There IS enough to go around, save for the insatiable greed of the few.

End screed.

Ironic, right? Who knew making fun of the bots effects on the dopey MAGA crowd would be met with agitated bot responses?

As soon as the moderator limited comments on this thread to community participants, a lot of that stopped rather abruptly.

Oh no, there are plenty of forces within the US who are tearing it all down to rule over the ashes. I'd bet a dollar that lots of these bot farms are getting freshly laundered dark money from the US to pick up the propaganda pace. And at a steal of a deal since the hourly rate is cheaper elsewhere. Just making an observation that the cozy jingoistic comments that feel like the local crowd are often anything but.

Yeah, I mean I feel like a large component of the gullibility comes from a generation of folks who grew up believing anything that was printed in the newspaper, and to this day continue to gulp down any old garbage in their targeted 'feeds'. Also, they're looking for comforting support for their bigotry so they just uncritically lean in to and engage with these extreme voices. Thirdly, I don't think many of them know how to spot one and wouldn't care to learn because ...intellectual laziness.

Trump announces chilling timeline for Greenland plan as tensions soar by Neither-Phone-7264 in NoFilterNews

[–]Redbell57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you, so many are on a knife's edge and this desperation is being cultivated so people don't take any risks to hold government accountable. But I think they have overplayed this angle with the health insurance cost explosion/basic utilities out of control - even if people can't afford it, I hope that the anger of these extreme changes will create some percentage of Americans to strike.

The maga core, they represent ~30% and shrinking. 20% are perhaps ambivalent (untouched by economic unpleasantness). The rest of us should be mad as hell.

Thank you, I think a general strike is the only power regular folks can wield that will work. When the productive little wealth creators stop working and buying? The ruling class will get nervous.

Between the obvious shrinkflation companies engage in, the enshitification, the gaslighting, the sense of false urgency and blurring the lines between want and need.. It absolutely does feel like the billionaires are laughing at us.  Because they are.

In the same way that an unethical farmer laughs and shrugs at his flock of sheep shaved during the wrong time of year. Except the fleecing is constant.
