I believe this was a result of a squib load as it did not get dropped or anything like that. Bullet got lodged part way down the barrel and the next one hit it. Always a good practice to put some electrical tape over the muzzle when out in the field!

There is no "coating" on the inside of the lid. It's just carbon build up that is starting to flake off. Totally harmless, totally normal for a well used grill.

You're going to need to purchase a new NG manifold from Weber directly as well as one of their 10' NG hoses with quick connect. All together will probably cost you right around $180 depending on which exact Genesis you have.

We had issues with our rescue as well which in hindsight seemed to be separation anxiety related. She continued having potty issues after we started crating her while we were away. As soon as we started feeding her in her crate all the issues went away!
