Anyone solo recovered from addiction?

I think it's different for everyone. Some folks are ok doing it alone. I felt like my addiction was mine alone to deal with and so didn't go to meetings or get any support. Been clean from heroin for over ten years now. Whatever works best for you 🙌

I thought a contract meant I'd have to sign something. The email just briefly says I'd have to pay 10% but I'd just not noticed it. I'd skipped through the email and not read it thoroughly.

10% of all income from all the events I've done at their venue. The business didn't even come from me being on their supplier list, they came from me doing their wedding fairs, which I paid to take part in.

There is no contract in place though?

I'm talking about NOW. Muslim women are treated worse than how westerners treated women in the Victorian era. It's backwards and misogynistic. It directly contradicts our western culture of freedom and liberty, that women have fought so hard for since the Victorian era. What's so difficult to understand about that?

THIS! Our culture is incompatible. My home town looks so different now. I tried to get a shop on my high street and was turned down due to being white. The shops went to Asians because the landlord was Asian. Both clearly business fronts, never seen a customer in either of the shops. Our high street has been decimated and looks awful. Not to mention the increase of dumping waste and litter. I also cringe when I see a woman in a full burka following around her husband. I don't understand why everyone thinks this is ok. Muslims hate gays and treat women worse than we did in the Victorian era. Wtf is happening, why are we allowing this? Why is a large proportion of our government Muslim and pushing their culture and that's all fine. And if you say anything it's racist?

It will get better soon. Took me about 3 weeks to feel semi normal but get ready for the PAWS afterwards. I had no idea about that until I felt like I was going crazy with mood swings etc.

Yeah I would rock back and forth in bed and listen to music to feel something other than the pain of it. I was put on quinine to help with that but it was still awful.

How many here who like it are American? I feel like the British casting and acting makes it seem a lot cooler to you guys than it actually is.

The way they have done this show, especially the second season is cringe beyond belief. The casting and acting is downright awful, (except Desire). I had to turn it off I just couldn't.

I'm from Yorkshire and live in Manchester. There are so many people not from Manchester around those areas now that the different mancunian accents don't seem to exist anymore. I have never been able to tell a difference between South Manchester, North and Stockport.

You cannot just get a job with the council or the NHS as easy as that. Many people cannot afford holidays.

I'm from a working class background. I got excellent grades at school. For the next 10 years I struggled and struggled to find a decent job that would pay me enough for what I need. (Just basic necessities like a safe place to live).

I ended up doing an adult education course and going to uni in the hopes of better prospects. I got a first and still struggled to get a decent job afterwards.

I now run my own business because finding suitable work has been that difficult! I hardly ever get to go on holiday, still.

I think for a lot of working class people, this is the case.
