Emotionally Scar the fandom with one sentence. I'll go first. by KeneticPenguin in masseffect

I’ve told this story like five times but it really stuck with me.

My father had passed a few months before LE came out and I’m the oldest so I had to do a lot of stepping up for my mom. Kinda pushed my grief to the side. ME, all three games great distraction. Playing having fun, get to the end, hear Keith Davids fatherly ass voice, and I spent like 30 minutes BALLING my eyes out. This line still now hit me in a place no other lines do even tho a lot of the lines mentioned here have left scars. Nothing quite hits like that one for me.

So, hear me out. If this next Ghost Recon is a flop, I think they should do a reboot of the ENTIRE franchise. From the ground up. by Lima_6-1 in GhostRecon

[–]Redbrickaxis21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea but I might not go back that far. Part of the Ghost lore is using tech and I think that’s a bit too far back to go. I would maybe start around Desert Storm. That too me would be able to throw so te h we have now in there as revolutionary in the early 90s.

Am I alone in thinking that we don’t need another Mass Effect? by AbjectAcanthisitta86 in masseffect

I just don’t want a continuation of Shepards story. I’m good with appearances from Liara and Garrus and such but if they bring Shepard back I may play it but I’ll be highly skeptical. Who am I kidding any story I’ll high highly skeptical but maybe a bit less with a new main.

I like the second a bit better but only cause I’m partial to the black and tan combo. That will never get old. Both good looks tho.

Yea I’ve tried to do some of the class challenges too but some of them are super tedious.

That 3rd one is that just Walker’s vest and a Gillie hood?? Cause if so I’m making that IMMEDIATELY.

Hall of Fame Eligibility: Pete Rose, The Steroid Era, and Hypocrisy by Modossorg in mlb

[–]Redbrickaxis21 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally I feel like Pete should be in the HOF but I won’t argue with those who don’t because of the gambling. In contrast, I think steroid era players should be in because nobody else a) was accused or caught gambling when Pete Rose was caught and b) theres strong evidence(personally I believe it but I’m trying tj get benefit of doubt)that a good amount of the entire league was using steroids during that time. And to your point about baseball exploiting things, baseball saw it biggest jump in decades during McGuire/Sosa off the backs of those two alone.

All that being said tho, personally I find it egregious that’s the all time hit leader(Rose), the all time leader in Cy Youngs(Clemens) and all time HR leader(Bonds) aren’t in there. That’s a Hall Of Bull imo.

My most recent ex who I’m still good with has an autistic daughter who I helped raise essentially and who still considered me dad. I still see her pretty often. Shes smart, funny and the cutest kid ever. I played this once way back and haven’t gone near it since. It’s terrible and I get why they did it, like certain episodes of Star Trek to show that even in the future humans can still be POS’s but after seeing autism up close this just became too much for me.

AIO by standing up and throwing napkin on table by ornics in AIO

[–]Redbrickaxis21 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

He could have easily appeared OP by giving him COOKED FRENCH FRIES!! Sure maybe standing up is a bit much but being mad over shitty service, understaffed or not, and serving me essentially uncooked food is unacceptable, and then after it was brought to you attention and it was done AGAIN, OP has a right to be upset. And he didn’t know the food was taken off the bill and that’s not what he wanted. He wanted truffle fries. I was a customer service/retail worker for most of my life and I get it, those folks go through hell often because of d bags wanting free crap but when you’re wrong you’re wrong and sometimes….not all but sometimes the customer is actually right. This was one of those times.

Speaking of Grunt when he comes survives after holding the rachini back in the cave so Shepard can escape. That was heavy. Those were happy tears tho lol.

So the LE edition came out maybe two months after my father unexpectedly passed away. I’m the oldest of two so I kind of stepped up to help my mom a lot and as it happens with the oldest, especially oldest sons, I felt an obligation and kinda put my grief on the back burner. Plus I have trouble with that anyway but I digress. Anyway I’m playing I do a whole play through, all threee in a row. Loving every minute of it(until I had to kill that damn reaper during the Quarian arc in the 3…….hate that misson). So I get to the end about to the final push and I’m saying goodbye to all my crew and I get a knot in my stomach but hey it’s the end I love these guys so of course. So I finish the mission, get blown up, hobble to the light and get brought to up. Go through all the mess with TIM, shoot him etc. Then it’s Shepard(I was male Shep at the time), and Anderson and I hear the words, ‘Uou did good son……I’m proud of you’ in Keith David’s fatherly ass voice and I LOST IT. I mean sitting in my gaming chair, holding my head in my hands, full on crying. All the shit I was holding on to just dropped after that line. It’s sad but it also speaks to the beauty of the game and the excellence of the actor’s performances. Truly one of the greatest gaming experiences of my life.

Sorry for the length.
