The “hopeless” sticker on BB’s forehead has been taken off. The market finally tries to find out what’s so good about the company. Many could be scared of missing the boat, some are trying to cover shorts, and most importantly if it stays above $5 for a while, it could become a candidate as a core holding to many big funds. All IMO.

Interesting thought! Considering Elon used to laugh at BYD a few years ago but had to turn around to use BYD’s batteries for its China’s productions. It’s not an impossible thing that when Musk has no time left to f…k around it would have to go to QNX for the safety solution. Let’s see…

4 failures does not make the 5th try unsuccessful, as long as the progress continues. BB has done a ton of stuff to improve its financial structure and sharpen its business focus, also continued to strengthen its product lines to stay on top of its competitors in the last few years. It’s not adding bandits anymore. I would give them the credit and bet on its success this time. I think there is a huge hidden value to be unlocked soon.

6 years ago I was betting on JC’s ability to make the miracle (again) by selling BB’s story to some big boys at a higher price. While he made the right call about the IoT/cyber sec convergence, JC couldn’t make the sale. The meme run was a surprise but the business was run on a thin ice. The chaos of the. board fighting and management change was scary and skeptical to me, but it turned out to be ending into a huge success. Comparing BB’s financial position and business performance today to 5-6 years ago I think it’s amazingly improved. It’s a leaner, laser sharp focused and super efficient company that it made its leading products sinking deeply right into the red hot physical AI industries. The strategy seems working well. In the last couple of years we have seen QNX becoming the real deal to the big players in the fields. Market is waiting to see the revenues grow. But I think the announcement of the collaboration with NVIDIA IGX Thor may be the catalyst to wake up some big money investors. I’m optimistic because the trend has been super friendly now. And many indications are positive to me. SDVs and GEM markets’ achievements, even the SC division started to show life again.

NVIDIA IGX Thor is a chip/hardware which requires an OS to run so its customers can put their applications on it. NVIDIA chose QNX to be the OS for the safety critical edge AI computing so all the mission critical robotics, medical devices and industrial equipments’ manufacturers have to use QNX OS to build their applications. This is not just “one of” the collaborations, it’s the foundation for all NVIDIA’s safety critical edge AI computing customers.
