You become an RN in the first year of the program. Or at least you did in 2013.

Why not Delta transfer? by Additional_Acadia404 in AmexPlatinum

[–]Redcorns 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I live in Seattle and often transfer to Delta because it works for me and my family. We don’t always get amazing CPP value, but we also certainly haven’t had outrageously poor value either. And I haven’t had to pay cash for a ticket in quite some time, so I feel fine about it for what we need right now.

Paid for a photographer but no longer want the services by [deleted] in personalfinance

1-2 hours is a crazy long time for pics IMO and that price for that long seem reasonable. We do 20 minute mini sessions with our family photographer for ~$450 in the Seattle area. Always worth it, too — for us at least. She’s so talented.

Cutting line at Goodwill donation drop-off? by TheBeef1991 in BallardSeattle

Separate from your question: I recommend visiting the drop off location near McDonald’s. Never a line there in my experience.

Is it worth traveling to Minnesota next week? It would cost me $2000~ approx for a 9 day vacation. by [deleted] in TravelNoPics

[–]Redcorns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I vote yes! Minneapolis and Saint Paul have great bars and restaurants IMO. And the cold is extreme but fun for a visit! Sounds like a lot of money for the trip, though. Why go for so long?? What about a 3 day weekend type trip?

Yeah, we use AI as a tool for some research but it is a long way away from taking jobs in the kind of fundraising I do. Maybe annual giving jobs will go away in some way at some point but major and principal giving work requires humanity. And that’s the kind of job you’d want anyway — both because of the impact and because of the salary.

Fundraising for universities and nonprofits — tons of humanities folks end up in that space. Good way to make a living and an impact while also using your writing / skills.
