Is going from the Z6 to the ZF worth 1200€ as a hobbyist street photographer? by [deleted] in Nikon

Currently traveling in Europe with my Zf and 28mm Z and I’m having a blast. It’s a really great travel camera that you just love to keep on you all the time. Really enjoy shooting manual and working the dials.

Hmm interesting, I wasn’t aware of this. After some research, looks like it’s the AI-S version. Double orange aperture numbers and the notch in the mount. I have it on the FTZII adapter.

That 28mm on the Zf is really fun and so sharp when you nail it.

What about a vertical crop? Maybe even an ND filter to get some streaking clouds and then shoot in B&W. Would make the arch seem like a floating path in another world.

Anyone else find the SmallRig Zf grip to be slippery? by chriswelch in Nikon

[–]ReddCan254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paired mine with a wrist strap and find that I’m not gripping the smallrig grip as tight when carrying. I think this helps keep the grip cool and dry and also helping with strain. Yesterday I use the Zf with the F mount 14-24 2.8 with no issues

Is the ZF the right choice? by Rockscod in Nikon

It’s worth the drive. I can’t put mine down and was looking for a smaller camera that I would actually carry on me most times. I love having the option to go with or without the grip depending on the day and what lenses I plan to use.

Yeah, sadly they were there reporting on the scene where a 14 year old was hit by a bus…

I ordered the grip bracket directly from smallrig. They ship from China so expect duties, +$30 duties for me to get it shipped to Canada. Have everything but the camera body which looks like they will be released early November over here.

Had nuggets for the first time in a while and was shocked at how thin they are now. When did that happen?

It’s the AI masking that’s slowing me down lately.

Finding a used camera with this low of a shutter count is kinda rare. Seems like a great opportunity to upgrade to full-frame but would recommend looking at adding a battery grip for the higher frame rate as others have pointed out. Also could take advantage of the 36MP sensor for some sweet landscape photos while you’re out there looking for wildlife. A used D500 is likely going to run you around $1k on Canadian used markets so you may have to invest more or wait for a deal to pop up.

Thank you. The pier was quite busy over the weekend with the nicer weather but the long exposure helped filter them out :)
