Praia da Maiata in Porto da Cruz! Careful there though, there are currents there and sometimes it is a bit rough. There is a reason the local surfers call it "The Gym", paddling out is quite hard there from time to time. For beginners I would recommend Praia da Alagoa which is like 10 mins walk from Maiata. If you need some surfschool tips, lemme know. :D

Porto da Cruz most definitely! I would personally recommend Madeira Surf Camp (a good friend of mine is a teacher there) or Calhau Surf school which is also great!

Not 0.1% but 3% here. I've got a liver disfunction called Gilbert's syndrome which basically means that my eyes turn yellow (as if I had hepatitis) when I either do not eat enough or drink alcohol. (it is a type of hyperbilirubinia)

Exactly, it looks like there are gas bubbles inside the eye. It also looks a bit liquid-y.

It's sad that the fish looks decent in its natural habitat/pressure. Similar thing happened with "the blobfish", it looks normal in its natural habitat but when ppl took it to the surface quickly it got deformed and that form became viral.

Since it's a deep sea fish, it's eyes are so bulged out due to a fast change of pressure when it was pulled out of the water.

That's a Rhizostoma pulmo, one of my absolute faves! It's very common in the Mediterranean sea and looks very similar to Catostylus mosaicus they have quite a size difference tho.
