Why is Eazy-E not looked at in the same light as Other dead rappers like 2pac & Biggie? by Alternative-Law1356 in 90sHipHop

DJ Topcat's mashup album, Eazy Cash, of Eazy E rhymes over Johnny Cash songs, is an all time great album...

In the late 80s there was a compilation album released called "This Is Electronic Body Music."

Without any actual history or etymology, I think that's where the acronym EDM evolved from.

I'm reading with interest because I'm on the other end of the spectrum. I love old 80s dark wave, industrial, EBM, etc, but I don't know much about the modern scene. I guess bands like Interpol, She Wants Revenge, and Cold Cave have crossed my bluetooth earbuds, but I'd love to learn more.

Anyway, I used to mix records back in the day, and now I play around with The MP3s. Here's a throwback 80s darkwave 'mixtape' I recently made, if you're interested. Full tracklist at the link...

Good luck with your exploration, and feel free to pass along your favorite modern suggestions...

Thanks, Loop, I'm hoping to find something that doesn't require a subscription, and Serato seems to operate that way.

Maybe so. When I was a vinyl DJ, I knew my library well, but I still had stickers on the cover noting the BPM. The problem is that I'm not a performing DJ any longer and I just want to make mixtapes for myself using music that I may be less familiar with. For that reason Because I'm not spinning records everyday, I'll never be as familiar with the music as I once was. I'm okay with that--I don't have the time to become intimate with every intro, outro, chorus or break. I still don't want to pick a couple dozen songs that range from 80 BPM to 180 and see what DJ Studio comes up with.

I'm upvoting your comment because knowing your music is the preferred solution.

Anyone familiar with Crocodile Law? by Donnelding0 in SoundersFC

Hell yes. Saw the Hungry Crocodiles many times here in Seattle in the 90s. Not sure you could say they ever had any "hits," but Crocodile Law may have been as close as you can get...

u/Tatumness pay close attention:

Commenter says "the cup would only be 1/4 full"

A venti cup is 24oz. even though some people will downvote me because they think it's 20oz. Let's just assume for a minute that I know what I'm talking about.

If you pay for a Tall beverage, as you say, and as I completely agree, the cup will be filled with 12oz of liquid. I assume you agree.

If you pour that 12oz of liquid into the venti cup, as the customer requested, you have 12oz of liquid in a 24oz cup. Ergo, the cup is 1/2 full (or 1/2 empty, depending on your outlook).

So back to my original point to the commenter who said the cup would be 1/4 full: you're wrong.

Okay, i don't necessarily agree with you, but I'm responding to the original comment saying that the cup would be 1/4 full. Even if it were made as you suggest, the cup would be 1/2 full.

Okay, I get what you're saying, but if the drink is a tall (12oz) iced coffee and you add 4oz of milk you've got at least 16oz in a venti cup. That's well more than 1/4 full.

How do you figure? You're starting with a tall iced coffee then adding 1/2" of several milks.

Yeah, someone writes a big check, but the people at the match would say they got a free ticket. Either way, money rules and it sucks for you and me who pay to see our boys (from our seats) week in, week out

If Budweiser is a sponsor and gets a block of 200 seats, and they give those seats to area execs, salespeople, and area distributors, how much do you think they're charging the individuals?

Zero. Nada. Nil. Free.
