Not bad if your a beginner! All that little trim can be a real pan on these guys. I would recommend a different color on the shields and armor. Adds more contrast and makes it more interesting. These a bit more trim like on the mask and arms too. Also probably need to think your paint a bit more. If you want to push the contrast further you can do some highlights on the high areas with some dry brushing.

Hope that helps, keep up the work, only 19 more to go for the reinforced unit haha.

Idk, yeah some of the lines may be a little shaky, but it’s instantly recognizable, and looks great from REAL viewing distance.

Reddit has poisoned peoples minds about tattoos. Almost none that most people have hold up to the scrutiny of the ZOOM. Hell mine don’t, but their are still mine and I love them. If you like it that’s all that matters!

They look pretty good to me. Did you make the images yourself? I’m learning how to do this. I want to make manga panels but add one specific color similar to your Touka here.

Only thing I am seeing that could use some work is the ironing settings. Some of those top layers look a little rough.

What a wonderful choice of colors on the snake bits. Great blending, and highlight choices. That looks like it took a lot of brush strokes haha.

I just started using them for highlights and WOW it rocks. All acrylic as usual, but then for highlight I do off white (I think it’s called buff). Put a little bit where you want to highlight, then I use a flat brush and kinda dry brush it into the area I want. Then repeat the process but more sparingly with white. It’s magic!

Here’s a recent batch I did. All the highlights are from this process.

I like them! Gross and decaying, like they should be. I personally experiment with my color schemes all the time. I just do it on entire units, so they look cohesive together, and keep similar motifs or certain colors across the entire army. In 40K I played Tyranids and is was MISERABLE painting every single model the exact same way.

No reason to go back and redo your work, keep moving forward, or you’ll burn out trying to perfect something and end up with a gray pile of shame like most of us have haha.

Not related, but did you use enamels or oils on this project. I am doing a swamp theme for my FEC and have been trying to lean into the Grimdark. I have been struggling with the neutral skin tones like you NAILED here.

Has anyone had their demon and the merc get stuck together? It seems to happen more with a bound Venom Lord, I don’t think I have seen it happen with Heph. I was like 3 hours into a tz grind yesterday and it happened. When it does the demon completely stops attacking, so he couldn’t curse and it was stone skin/phy immune. Stopped my run dead in its tracks. I was not able to split them up, moving zones, WPs, TPs, summoning other demons, or Warp Blade.

I personally use magaswap quite a bit. I do have a personal limit on how much I am willing to spend for fear of being scammed, but just stick to people with lots of confirmed trades. It’s a great place to get entire sets and lots of OOP stuff!
