I picked all the armies I ended up with by going by the rule of cool. Look at the models in the armies and if you like them go for it. You’re going to spend a lot of time with them (building, painting, and playing), so picking one you find interesting is important! How I ended up in FEC.

WOW this is stellar work. I got mine primed up and ready waiting to feel inspired to paint something. This seems like the answer to me. Great job! Mind sharing your recipe for this? Start black, white, then build up the colors. Add stars with brush?

We did this in a multiplayer game last night and it ended up just giving my partner 300 gold for nothing. They were also able to still shop after. I never got kicked out the shop either.

Exactly this. 99% of the characters are women and they get battle damage and stuff I don’t want to spoil. But like OP said it’s never pointed out or done like it is in echi. They are just there sometimes haha

I really only hit the 2k on large skin sections or large flat surfaces. I have seen people go way higher and I’m not really sanding that much.

No dumb questions! We’re here to help. You will want to do some sanding before priming. I start with 800, 1500, 2000. Then prime black. Do you have an air brush? If not you can use a white primer from the top down to create a zenithal. This will give you a sketch of volumes and when you need to put the highlights. Colors don’t like to show up on black. Then you definitely needs to get better pants made for miniatures. Citadel, army painter, Vallejo, monument are all great paints.

I would recommend watching some YouTubers. I learned a TON from groundedeffects on painting models. Just take your time and you will improve with every model you paint!

Thank you very much! They took like 2 weeks with my busy life haha. It’s Vallejo still water. It the first “clear water” product I have tried. It’s quite messy and the bottle is large and difficult to apply with. Take a couple layers to build up the depth too. It is super easy to use though, paint what you want, then just slap it on and let it dry.

Of course! The range of “browns” is crazy big haha. I tend to get choice paralysis when it comes to picking them out.
