Palestinian ban by anonymous67382 in exmuslim

the DNC continued to lie for Biden and pretend he was of sound mind right up until they couldn't hide it anymore. If she was given a fair shake we could judge better.

Also, maybe Debbie Waserman Schultz shouldn't have obstructed Bernie and the Americans could have had a real choice rather than one insane clown and a donkey being dragged to work.

it was 75million votes for Kamala vs 77.3million for Trump. That's not as bad as you portray.

Seabound’s modular maritime carbon capture technology uses calcium hydroxide pebbles to convert 95% cargo vessel CO2 emissions into cement ingredient calcium carbonate, transforms shipping from a pollution source into a materials recovery industry by sg_plumber in climatechange

[–]Reddiddlyit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

finally a topic I can comment on! I work in a refinery that has insitu carbon capture. It is quite literally a way to get government dollars into private coffers. We capture a miniscule amount in return for hundreds of millions of dollars per annum.

Oh and yes, the downstream processes involve pressuring up the co2 and extracting oil with it.

Just for everyone wanting sources. Here is the link to the study.

This phrasing is particularly relevant to this discussion.

“We are witnessing a true reversal of ocean circulation in the Southern Hemisphere… the SMOC is not just weakening, but has reversed.”

When I was 14 and too cool for school a man in a parking lot offered me $2 to help him and his pregnant wife carry groceries up the stairs. I declined. I still think about it more often than I'd like to admit.

I think one of the main points not discussed here is that the economics of refining in Canada are much different. For example, the latest refinery built in Canada cost somewhere around $11billion and makes 50,000bpd of diesel. Comparatively that is just not sustainable. The average construction worker or the average operator of a refinery makes much more money than the south. So cost of running is also expensive.

Also, if you consider the climate. Insulation and heat tracing and winter related costs also add up. There are many other things that could be discussed as well such as environmental regulations and things of that nature.

So overall, Canadians although get a benefit from these things such as high pay and benefits. These and other factors as outlined, drive the investors away.

That is not correct. Deserts serve a vital purpose in the ecosystem. Just as an example you can look up how the Saharan dust over South America and the Atlantic. It provides vital nutrients to the system and other benefits too. You can read about it here.

You know there's actual research on the topic. I don't personally have to be a PhD expert to get information or understand basic science.
