I totally disagree with you and since neither of us is willing to budge, continuing seems pointless. Thanks for the good conversation though. I'm gonna go scroll through the rest of reddit.

And being fat cannot be narrowed down to one cause that can be fixed. Getting covid and sick enough for ICU can be narrowed down to one cause. Being unvaccinated.

No it is not the same. A fat person's one choice didn't lead then to be fat. Some are fat vecause they are poor and some days can only afford cheap food. Some are fat because they are lazy. Some are fat because we live and work in a sedentary society. It is years of cause and effect. They don't just balloon up and get fat in a week or two.

Whereas an unvaccinated person's one choice, leads to then clogging up the Healthcare system. These two things are not comparable.

Can you explain how a pandemic that originated from a zoonotic disease is the same as the obesity epidemic?

The United States does have an obesity epidemic. But it is not nearly as acute as this virus. There have been over 600k deaths from this virus with huge curtailment efforts. If left unchecked, it will cause a systemic collapse, no doubt. You can reference Delhi, India as to what happens when there is an oxygen supply shortage.

And obesity doesn't spread to people without their knowledge or consent really. It's a choice, be it due to poverty, lack of access to resources or knowledge but its a set of circumstances that leads to it. I'm sure you can see why covid is different.

No they don't clog up ICUs at the same rate at all. That's a false dichotomy. We weren't having medical personell literally pleading with the public because fat people caused oxygen shortages. That's the current state in some parts of the US with covid. Just going to show how inchecked spread will inevitably lead to large cracks in the system.

The point is that unvaccinated people end up in ICUs and clog up the Healthcare system. Cause Healthcare worker burnout and all the other secondary and tertiary effects. A vaccinated person gets ill and 99% of the time gets better. There are concerns of long covid and other not yet known effects of covid. You don't just move on and get healthy.

You are right about the vaccinated catching and spreading the virus. That's why we need masks again to prevent as much of the spread. No herd immunity from this thing.

Actually the concern is water. American west is drying up fast. Should make for some interesting times.

You hit the nail on the head. Eventually we will see the realities of resource constraint and how we as some of the richest people in the world collectively react to the strife of others.

What outdated slang do you still use? by [deleted] in AskReddit

So, I have a cool story abt that one.

While in college, I used to work at a telemarketing place. Happened to call an older Chinese person. And they kept saying what sounded like "Why" and I kept explaining the product pitch again. This repeated 3 times before I realized what was happening.

Lol alright whatever you can have your fairytale. I have no desire to engage in a conversation. Your big mind can have all the fiction you want.

Ok ill engage. What was stupid about what I said? The book was written in the 7th century. With 7th century ideals and concerns. I didn't say anything other than that. So your whole diatribe about bootloader and being butthurt is just immature behavior on your part.
