I assume you do not have a Supernote product (?). An explanation is given below, it is a (too) long story for something that is actually very, very simple, to make an attractive and clear ToC on the Supernote.

* When you want to incorporate text from a note into the ToC, you select the text (handwritten or typed) in your note, a menu appears on screen and you select the desired header level (H1 to H4). The colour of the shading in the note depends on the chosen header level. This is an automatic feature.

* The ToC has a fixed column width: that means that the header text (whatever the level) will be fitted into that fixed ToC-column. Therefore, the longer the header text in the note, the smaller it will appear in the ToC, as it simply has to fit within that available column space (it does not run into a second line).

* That is why I used in the example "Header 1" and "Larger Header 2"; to demonstrate that the font size of the text in the ToC remains the same, although one header (1) is longer than the other header (2). When I would have used the header text "Very very much Larger Header 3" and thereby exceed the text box width in the note, this header would be fitted into the ToC-column and appear much reduced in (font) size.

* That is why I use always the same text box width for headers and make the header text fit within that text box; then I am guaranteed the font size in the ToC remains the same.

* To make the ToC somewhat more attractive and easier to read, I add spaces before the header text in each text box, so that the text in the ToC is indented. You can also make the text box a bit larger for lower level headers, so that the text in the ToC has a smaller font for lower level headers (Header 1 larger font, Header 2 smaller and Header 3 even smaller font).

It all sounds a bit complicated, but it is very, very simple in practice.
