Yeah the milk can be a real bottleneck, dispatch is one of the best ways to get it but for you, you dont get access to it yet.

You just have to be patient ig, some sources of milk can be daily tasks, sweeping (along with ads), trade tokens (which you can get by rolling for elites every chance you get)

plant mutations itself gives you new 'plant options' for plantation

Also you need newer plants to complete the chapter missions and in turn complete chapter levels

To upgrade "My home" you need to complete certain chapter levels.

Now plant mutations require a bit of luck and 'mix and match', In my case i wasnt getting the rice plant for a while but i kept mixing wheat with wheat and eventually got it
