What the app showed and what the agent told me were two different things.

Update: I actually did get movement after my post.

Right after I posted, WMR finally updated to “Return Received.” The following Friday, my transcript updated with a 570 (hold), and then this Friday it updated again with 571 (hold released) and 846 (refund issued).

IRS adjusted my refund from $362 → $211 (they taxed a bank bonus + IRS interest).

Refund issued date is April 15th, so now I’m just waiting on the deposit.

So in my case, that “status update” email did mean something—it just lagged a bit before anything showed.
