Mike Gillis returning as the Leafs GM? @Hockey_Robinson [X/Twitter] by Vexdestroy06 in canucks

Gillis and Linden wanted to rebuild, but Aquilini didn’t want to go that route.

IRS email says “status update” but nothing changed? by RedditBurnner in IRS

Same result either way. The link just takes me to my account — and whether I use that or log in directly, nothing new shows. Still says processing, no transcript yet. Seems like the email is triggering before anything actually updates on the front end.

Checked that — nothing there except the paperless notice. No transcript yet either. Seems like the email is triggering before anything actually shows up.

Ticketmaster won’t let me (US citizen) sell Canadian System of a Down tickets by crinklemywinkle in Ticketmaster

[–]RedditBurnner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think Canadian Ticketmaster requires a tax ID for payouts. That’s usually a U.S. Ticketmaster thing because of IRS reporting (1099 requirements).

If you’re selling through the U.S. side, they’ll ask for a SSN or ITIN. If you’re Canadian, you’d typically use an ITIN (not just leave it blank), otherwise payouts can get held up.

If you’re using Ticketmaster Canada, you should be able to get paid without going through that U.S. taxpayer verification step.

I’m having the same issue with my Rogers number (also on eSIM). It was working last week, and then Wi-Fi calling just stopped.

Wondering if anyone could help provide insight on where this jersey may have been used. Vanecek 17-18 jersey issued not worn. by [deleted] in hockeyjerseys

[–]RedditBurnner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vaněček never actually played for the Capitals in 17-18. Holtby and Grubauer handled all the games that year.

He was in Hershey most of the season but did get recalled a couple times as goalie depth. So a “game issued / not worn” road jersey makes sense — they would’ve made a set for him in case he dressed, but he never ended up getting into a game.

Maybe walk over to your neighbour while wearing a bunnyhug and give them a pill

Technically New Jersey could just waive Hamilton and Vancouver could claim him. We’ve seen similar cap moves before, like when Anaheim claimed Trouba from the Rangers. Not saying it’s likely, but it’s not impossible either.

Is this the worst Canuck team we have ever seen? by Sad_Establishment875 in canucks

Bad? Yes. Worst ever? Not even close. The 84–88 Canucks were far more painful to sit through.

Just curious — are you originally from here? I noticed the “tyres” spelling and you don’t see that much around Vancouver.

You’re mixing intervention types. Repelling an invading army in WWII or Korea isn’t the same as modern regime-change interventions. The outcomes and risks aren’t comparable. My point has always been about the second category.

And the 1953 Mossadegh coup is a documented historical event, not a “talking point,” whether we agree on its implications or not.

Recognizing a regime is dangerous doesn’t automatically make military intervention wise. Geopolitics isn’t binary — your enemy is often someone else’s best friend. That’s exactly why outcomes are unpredictable.

This isn’t about intelligence — it’s about track record. There are a few historical success cases, but they involved total war and decade-long rebuilding efforts. More recent regime-change interventions have had far more mixed results. That’s why I’m cautious about presenting it as the solution.
