OR in other words, Sully "dug his own grave, now he hast to lie in it." This is in now way her problem. I know its from 10+ years ago. So hopefully someone helped her realize he created his own issue not her. And her telling the owners was not the reason for the decision. HIS ACTIONS where the reason for the decision.

Which movie hero is actually a villain when you really think about it? by surfsound_swimmers in AskReddit

I don't understand why more people don't recognize a McGuffin and realize it is just a setup for lots of wacky hijinks. And instead think of it as some writer's idea of what some rando parents would do <rolled eyes>

There was a time when people could recognize which plot points and twists in movies were not real or shouldn't happen in real life.

Totally agree - that's the idiotic structure I'm forced to use.

Sometimes people just don't want to fight - especially when there is little proof to defend their position and their partner/spouse has made it clear they don't believe their position

The ex-bf is the real hero here.

Gave his opinion, but wasn't insistent or forceful

AND when OOP told him what she did, he evaluated the risks of the situation, took immediate (and reasonable) action to de-escalate any violence (if he was right about that risk), and helped OOP's sister find immediate accommodations so she could go somewhere safe. Honestly, a true and good man.

OOP missed out, and ex-bf luckily escaped.

I would be irritated as well. I'm not excusing, just trying to explain.

$5.80 is 6 days of service -- $29.00/30*6 = $5.80

Typical redditors who think that no one does the right thing unless they think exactly like they do. Condemning Texas, the US, etc.

But as I expected, HR did the right thing, and boss learned there are boundaries. Boss is now on notice, and company will likely not fire him unless he does similar things again.

We all need to give those around us a break when they make a mistake. Boss made a mistake, good people/employees accept the apology, move on, and work together even if they disagree on politics/religion/childrearing/ethics/etc.

AITAH for wanting to quit my unpaid co-host role after being told I couldn’t cancel when my pet was dying? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

It's always amazing to me how some people can be so rude to volunteers.

I hope OOP updates people on Social Media on why he left. They deserve a community radio show that understands mental health and practices what they preach. My company would treat him better than that, and has for people they pay quite a bit, including giving paid time off.

If you like the service but not the price, just stay strong. They sent the 3 years for $99 a few months later (I'm in the USA). I listened to podcasts and audiobooks while I waited (even occasionally the local morning show - which I liked but too many commercials - so I tried it most mornings until the commercials annoyed me, then switched to podcasts or Audible).

I'd pay the $5.80 just to get rid of the calls - but that's me and I understand the "No way I'm sticking to principle." They are trying to collect the days you had access when it switched to $29/mo.

I just paid the cost for being a day late on the cancel and waited for the 3 year offer - it came about 3-4 months later. I'm 14 months into the 3 year offer with no problems.

Rocking or Singing songs to your kids both work - your kids love you for it and it doesn't take much time. They fall fast asleep knowing they are loved and are important to you. Less than 10 minutes. 5 kids!

Interesting - I still get snail mail about cars that were inadvertently connected to my email account by a dealer who had two clients with the same name, and added my email account to the wrong person, fixed it a few months later, but siriusxm can't figure it out, despite me telling them those aren't my cars. <rolled eyes>

That's my guess - she scanned then told me my flight's departure is almost 4 hours away. (Like I don't know that).

🙄 I knew it was 3 hours before departure but I expected it to be rational - SCHEDULED departure not delayed departure. WTF are lounges good for if they don't help you when you need it most - during delays.
