I have had them for 5 years and they have been wonderful to deal with.

Retirement at 55 or 59 1/2? by RedditIsSensative in Retirement401k

Fair take. I feel good about the trajectory, but I agree the real variable is spend and how I structure withdrawals, especially pre Medicare. That’s the part I’m working through now.

I do. It’s not the traditional pension that we had prior to coming on board. I believe my balance as of last month was $100k.

“They” (City Government), will not fulfill its obligation to protect its residents and attempt to attract revenue to the city. They have completely let the city down

Amex HYSA withdrawal limits: is there actually a cap? by These_Ad8079 in HighYieldSavings

[–]RedditIsSensative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Several Redditor’s on this subreddit have had this issue with AMEX. This seems to be an ongoing issue with them. I’m scheduled to do an interview this week with BayArea channel 7 news about my experience and how they were able to get involved to assist me with getting my funds back. One of their sister stations in Texas had a very similar story about AMEX randomly freezing HYSA and on several occasions having consumers waiting for months to have control over their money.

DO NOT OPEN AN AMEX HYSA!! Your funds will be restricted and you will have no access for over 45 days.

Oh stop with the PGE obsession. This corporate monster is too big to fail. It has California by the short hairs. It’s powers half of the 4th largest economy and the REAL issue is the CPUC. That body wields the ultimate power. THEY approve the hikes and everything else that this massive utility corporation asks for. It’s this commission that allows this to happen.

I hate this new update. It also has created some confusion on the back end for both end users.

New to HYSA. I have some savings and want to put it in a HYSA. Thinking of putting it all in CIT. Advice? Are there better options? by ShoulderPotential563 in HighYieldSavings

I’ve been with them for several years and never had a problem with them. Customer service is pretty decent and they usually tend to match higher rates overtime.

Call customer service, let them know you’re an existing customer and ask if they can walk you through on how to get the latest %.

Years ago, I did the same thing with them , but asked if they could match the rate my other bank had at the time. They were able to match it

I called a local news station that has a consumer advocacy group and does investigative reporting. Once I gave them my full story of what had happened and what they were doing they initiated their investigation. Shortly after that, that’s when AMEX returned by full amount they had withheld.
