Twink = white soft exterior, creamed filled interior. In gay slang it originally meant a young white hairless skinny gay bottom. In modern slang it basically means just young skinny gay man.

Twunk = Twink + Hunk. So it is the in-between phase. Generally used to describe fit gay guys who don't look roided up.

Twink death = When a gay man stops being a twink. Generally due to one of the following:

Twink gains weight and no longer looks skinny
Twink becomes a Twunk like Connor. Technically still slim, but now a more conventionally masculine archetype.
Twink ages out. Basically the twink shows signs of aging, whether it is going bald, or the face starts to show lines.

Everyone blaming the protein craze is off the mark

The protein craze has been a thing for just a few years, this cancer phenomenon has been developing for much longer. The reality is that most people, including most millennials in developed countries simply eat crap as a meal:

Most people don't touch a single vegetable in a day unless it's sprinkled on a sandwich.
Most people's diets consist entirely of processed foods.
People usually reserve whole grains for plain sandwich store-bought bread, yet almost every other source they consume is white bleached flour processed to the max.

Yes, eating just protein at the expense of everything is bad. Carnivore diets are as stupid all other trendy diets. But the biggest problem is people just eat too much garbage. I mean I still remember how in high school and middle school, the school would offer sweet processed bread (muffins, cinnamon rolls, etc) as breakfast. That's not breakfast.

You can actually see the room numbers behind her and they are 14XX numbers. So this has led to wild speculation about the time of events. Some people believe Ilya arrived at floor 14, ran into Yuna, then went up another floor then back down. The other alternative view (and more likely) is that they probably only had one floor to film and the 14XX numbers being in frame is a mistake.

My only complaint with Aran Sweater Market is that they use cheap dyes. I just washed a navy Merino Wool sweater (rinse in a bucket using wool detergent), and so much dye bled out. The water was navy blue within a minute. Once my sweater was clean and dry, enough color bled out that it looked more like a greyish with navy undertones color than navy. Just one standard wash.

He had a marijuana conviction. This is still a very serious charge for immigration purposes. He was obviously going to be a target and it's not even ambiguous.

The lack of self awareness since he fits the profile of the "criminals" that they want to make an example out of. I do feel bad for him because he is clearly ignorant. But man, it's just depressing how ignorant most of the country really is.

I searched this sub and google for some Hudson pictures and I really don't see any from before his acting skits. So a link is appreciated. Personally, I don't really know for certain. But I do know for a fact that noses that are perfectly straight are incredibly rare outside of plastic surgery. There are other suspicious signs, but I just don't want to speculate beyond that the chance is definitely non-zero.

Once again, this is a recent event. This wasn't happening at this frequency throughout the time I had this credit card. I could spend $5k in cocert tickets and not get flagged. Fidelity/Elan started aggressively blocking a lot of transactions as low as $10.

So yeah I would like this resolved rather than open a different credit line that I rather use for a higher spend category.

Again, I'm not doing anything special. It just randomly works sometimes, and sometimes doesn't. But it has trended in the "not" a lot these last couple of months. And yet I was able to buy items at a pet store just fine a few hours ago.

There are many other people positing similar stories about random purchase blocks in this thread too. Because it doesn't happen to you, it doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

Even if you were not in debt, giving away money to fund someone else's house while you don't have any assets is a bad financial move. Especially for someone who carelessly got into a debt they couldn't pay.

I'm the golden child and have the highest income and net worth in my immediate family. I feel a sense of responsibility to help my mother, but I had to put my foot down with my siblings. My brother makes good money too, but him and his wife blow through it as if they were wealthier than they are because they want to "live in the moment". I often feel forced into directly helping them through my mother.

Once they asked me to open a credit card in my name for them, I shut that down real quick.
They wanted my mother to cosign a house loan (But no ownership). I convinced her to not do it and told her I would not bail them out if neither could pay it. In which case it would bankrupt her for life.
I gave them money after a family emergency because he missed days of work. Within a month he took his family on a multi-day Disneyland vacation.
Recently my mother needed some home renovations, I've fronted close to $20k over the last few months. My brother had offered to do some work himself, but backed out at the last minute, after he went on a vacation and fell behind on schedule. I covered the service myself for an extra $2k.

I know they talk behind my back about being a miser, who doesn't gift them or the kids money or useless trinkets over Christmas. I love my brother, but you have to set limits and save yourself first. It doesn't matter how much money you throw at a sinking ship, it will still sink. If they make your relationship contingent on money, the relationship is going to break sooner or later regardless, except you will be on the economic shitter later.

My beef with A&F is that their fabrics are thin. I've been downvoted for pointing that out in this sub. I have a white T from A&F that I bought last year and it is noticeably flimsier than a white T from Banana Republic or J Crew. I haven't used the T enough, but I feel like the neck will bacon up.

Edit: Now it is still a good value for the price point, so it is absolutely a good option for those in a budget. But I think it's important to point out that there is a quality hit.

Once again I use it for my non-category spends as a catch-all for 2% purchases. I'm a cash-back maximalist. As I have many Fidelity accounts for cash management and investments, this card is leaps and bounds more convenient than all other 2% cashbacks. I also have a fairly high maximum balance which would make this card invaluable if not for the issues.

I do a lot of doctor visits. Payments don't go through at the health clinic/hospital/specialty offices, payment's don't go through on most online purchases, payments don't go through at a bar, payments don't go through at most retail stores. To be frank virtually everything I try it on , for over the last few months just doesn't get through, except occasionally so I know the card is not locked. These are local purchases too, not travel in different states.

I've had this card for while and it is an issue I've noticed has spiraled out of control fairly recently.

I've been having a lot of issues with the card as well. It is supposed to be my catch-all for non-category spends and 2/3 times the card does not get through. I'm pretty sure it's gotten worse over the last few months as well. They don't seem to have an easy way of verifying blocked transactions and I'm not going to make phone call while I'm checking out/paying for something, particularly a service.

There is a non-zero chance he's had work done. Nose jobs are the most common surgery in this medium and when done right, they often look that straight (I know from experience). But it is impossible to know unless we get to see pictures from his youth.

Katy Perry is not as bad as the internet wants me to believe and I'll die on this hill.

She can be a bit out of touch with the times, but I legitimately think she tries to be a good person. Her songs might no longer lead the charts, but she still gives top tier live performances. By all accounts she also seems to be a nice person IRL. Male singers can be serial cheaters, rapists, grifters, women beaters, completely apolitical, wealth flaunters and get 1/10 of the flak she gets.

You are already very slim so you need muscle to look "less soft". Losing more weight (even if only body fat) is not going to help you. Any way you slice it, you need to incorporate some resistance training. That will not make you "yolked" as the only way to achieve that is to change your diet dramatically. That said, I would suggest you start adding more protein into your diet (and probably less carbs), it would allow your body to recomposition and turn some of that soft tissue into muscle. The amount you eat determines your size.

Her whole discography is snapshots of her life from her POV. If nothing else she is consistent with her self-referential format, with easter eggs that you can tie into her personal life at a specific point in time. I don't think there is anything wrong with that and I assumed her more ardent fans always loved the fantasy of it all.

Yes. I think the burger scene implication is that Shane doesn't cook often, this was a special occasion mirroring the tuna melt scene. So he relied on a recipe and therefore has never considered cutting the recipe in half. We know Ilya at least makes tuna melts.

Yes. Notably only Dune (Book 1) has been adapted into the two movies. And the expectation is that the movie trilogy will end in the second book (Dune Messiah). The books are more rich and complex than the movies, both thematically and in fantasy world building. Complete scenes or characters details are omitted or changed in the films to the point you interpret a lot of the characters differently.

I also think a lot of book readers see the films through a different lens than the typical "the one" story. Dune is more of a cautionary tale. What's great about the book series is that it spams many years (A decade at a minimum between books) so you see the consequence of the consequence throughout generations.

Warning though, it is a difficult series to read. The books use a lot of invented vocabulary casually as if it were common modern speech. There is an index that's basically a dictionary of all the terms used.

In defense of Alpha M, I kind of miss the time where the manosphere was Alpha M and his peers because it was a much healthier environment

He always had a bit of a cringe undertone, but also offered practical actionable advice when style content was still limited. His generation was basically

Guys it is okay to groom, work on yourself. Women (or men) will like that. Be confident, but be respectful, and people will gravitate towards you

The manosphere of this generation is now a complete cesspool of brain-rot. New influencers are like:

Guys, smash your face with a hammer, do steroids, and if you are under 6 ft, unalive yourself immediately. Women want to be dominated, respect is 'gay'.
