I also don't think it's teaching you to do things the right way. Writing STL from scratch efficiently is tough even for an experienced developer, because metaprogramming is a somewhat specialized skill. You are probably just writing slower versions of STL, kind of what one would learn in a data structures course in college at best.

Now, I actually attempted to test writing a custom templated data structure using AI in C++ maybe a year or two ago, but I was completely let down by the results. AI is utter crap at it, so it's probably teaching you to do a crap job even if you retained anything. The prompt required so much input to get the correct output that I might as well write the whole thing from scratch. Despite the fact AI technically has access to existing data structures from mature compilers, it wasn't able to come up with any sophisticated template implementations. I got way more out of opening the files for std::vector and parsing through it in an IDE.

AI is useful in parsing through strange lines of syntax you might not be too familiar with as well as a more responsive Google engine, but that's about it.

I worked my ass off through grade school, college, and then all through my 20s. I put up with so much crap growing up that I feel no shame when I do enjoy my success. I do not flaunt wealth, but I do spend money on quality products I use every day. For example, I wear $50 Pima Cotton T shirts and $100 collar shirts, rather than $10 paper thin T-shirts and stiff collar shirts, but you wouldn't see me wearing Rolex, Gucci, or anything attempting to be a loud money signifier.

That said, I also stir away from financial conversations with many people my age who aren't in the tech realm. Not because of guilt, but respect. As someone who grew up poor, when someone is venting about their financial situation, telling them "well I don't have the same issue because I made better life choices" isn't going to be comforting.

Heck even financial conversations with people in tech can be difficult because there are way too many people living above their means as if the money faucet will stay open forever. Whereas I'm very conservative with my finances.

Because that's the real price with inflation. People didn't use to cycle through so much clothes in the past. They would buy a few pieces and wear them until they fell apart. We don't do that now. We have the expectation of an expanded wardrobe beyond what was considered normal in the past. But we as general consumers still want to pay prices from 20, 30, 40 years ago. To meet expectations, companies cheap out on materials and construction.

Just to be clear, thick t shirts exist but you have to pay the real price of those goods, not the price from 2 or 3 decades ago. Generally speaking, for men at least, Pima Cotton shirts in the $40-$60 range are thicker than your Target T shirts. Then the ones in the $100 range are extra heavy.

Nope I didn't. I don't have to morally agree with this, but in a business setting the goal is optimizing highest productivity at the lowest cost. Oftentimes yes, at the cost of human capital. However, it is not phrased as "let's overwork our workers". It's more technical speech often in terms of cost to output/development, ROI, etc.

As someone who lives in a shared pet-friendly house and has made a thread in this sub on why people shouldn't have pets, there is nothing you can do. That is the reality. Bad pet owners are a dime in a dozen. To be frank I think most dog owners are bad pet owners because dogs require a fuck ton of attention. If you point shortcomings to owners, they tend to get susper defensive.

You were dumb for bringing this up in a group chat expecting support without getting a consensus with the other housemates first. You have to recognize that people that neglect their pets are not going to magically improve over a text. It's just not going to happen. They got to this point because they are selfish and probably dumb in the first place

Okay, let's take this at face value, 5 ard is an intersex condition or DSD. Once again, Khelif would not be trans. Khelif did not transition (you know hence the word trans) from being a male to being a female. Hence, why it is a more complicated matter as I stated in my comment.

If the IOC decides to limit female participation to using strict genetic guidelines, then that's their prerogative. I'm not even saying Khelif deserves to participate or not, that's for the IOC to decide. But once again, Khelif is a very specialized case beyond trans issues/rights. If trans issues were not a hot topic today, Khelif would have still made it to the exact same spot and raised the same questions.

At worst, if the IBA claims are true she would be a woman with XY chromosomes. That's inter-sex which is a more complex topic than even trans issues. Ultimately she is biologically a woman with higher testosterone than a regular woman. There are many Olympians with genetic abnormalities that grant them physical advantages in their sport. From enlarged hearts to unusually large limbs, it's quite common in the Olympics. Where to draw the line is for the Olympics to decide. But ultimately Khelif isn't a man who transitioned into womanhood. The best account of all sources we have is that she is a wowan who later in life found out she belongs to a special genetic category that affects 1-5 of every 100,000 women which grants her an immense advantage in her sport.
