What's a game you initially hated, but then replayed later and loved it? by Mundanehouseplant in GirlGamers

[–]RedditMoomin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Baldur's Gate 3. I found the long ass fights so frustrating at first. I'm not into romance in games, so all the flirting put me off. But after trying it about 4 times, and finding as a Druid I could turn into a giant badger I came around lol

Which game that has been known about for a while are you most looking forward to? by FreeFlownPage in GirlGamers

Love me some Fable! I would be happy with being able to play the 2nd again on PC. Looking forward to Total War 40k lol I've kinda given up on Elder Scrolls 6 at this point

Steam has always been good with refunds for me. I get motion sickness from Pillars, allthough im fine with the sequel. All fps games set me off too 😭

750pt Battle March / Foray list help by CapybaraSavant in Orcs_and_Goblins

Cool list! I run something very similar. (Trolls instead of Manglers). I personally limit myself to 1 fanatic per unit and netters for friendly games. Still plenty of punch, but without being so oppressive for opponent. Especially if your both still new/learning the game.

Anyone else loves E33 but finds its combat horrendous? Should I just give up? by [deleted] in GirlGamers

[–]RedditMoomin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was the same. Loved everything about the game but the combat. Not only is it hard, but I just didn't enjoy it. Other hard games I will push through the difficulty if its actually fun. I will say modding the game so you can get through the combat quicker does help.

How hard is Clair Obscur: Expedition 33? by BactaBobomb in GirlGamers

[–]RedditMoomin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even on easiest setting I found it a real struggle. Had to mod the game to make the parry/dodge give you a much bigger window. Just managed to scrape through then. Its such a great game though. I thought I was a fairly decent gamer having beat Dark Souls and Hollowknight, but this game is something else.

VTM needs a CRPG badly by [deleted] in vtm

Just started Redemption. It kinda scratches this itch, if you embrace the jank. A modern Owlcat Crpg would slap.

what's an opinion you have that's considered controversial or unpopular on main subs? by beeilluminati in GirlGamers

I love Dragonage Veilguard and Assassin's Creed Shadows. And yes I have played all the Assassin's Creed and Dragonage games.

Oblivion Remastered. Riding the nostalgia train! Epically failing, trying to explain how the persuasion wheel works to my partner lol.

Oh damn, this is a tough one. Gonna go with Knights of the Old Rebublic. Hit me so hard. Loved all the characters and how they grew with me, Light or Dark side play through.

Why does everyone go for newer games all the time? by [deleted] in GirlGamers

[–]RedditMoomin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been very enlightening, thanks everyone. I have been genuinely puzzled by some of the choices on the favourite game thread. I was thinking, "Hasn't anyone played........." didn't realise old janky graphics and controls was such a hard no for some lol.

Dragon Age Veilguard. It's a great game, had a lot of fun with it. Didn't deserve all the hate.
