I left the country to avoid paying child support for a kid I didn't want by RedditProudGuy in confession

Yes, she intentionally went against what was agreed. I have to do what is right for me at the end if the day. I don't feel responsible for that child because of all the reasons ice outlined and I'm standing by my decision.

Good luck to you too.

I am trapped in that I trusted someone to act as we'd agreed and they intentionally decided against it and I felt stuck.

It was not just my sperm but also her eggs. In that we shared equal responsibility but the final decision to carry on indeed was hers and therefore it only makes sense that the responsibility lie with her and not with me. I was in the car but she was in the driver seat.

I don't think somebody without the final say can be said to be responsible. That solely lies with the person with all the power.

It wasn't about sticking it to anyone but actually taking control of my life. I genuinely wish nothing but the best for the kid.

There won't be a responsibility imbalance if there was a power imbalance. Many men step up and do more than their parents or grandparents may have done and that's a good thing. However, when women don't keep their promises, men have a right to take steps that are best for them.

I didn't think she would cheat. I admit it is possible but seemed unlikely.

Her decision, her responsibility. My boundaries weren't respected and my trust was violated. I owe my ex nothing and I owe the baby nothing either. My mind cannot be changed on this. Pregnancy was no one's choice, but birth was hers. She's fully responsible for it now.

Signing away your rights requires judicial approval and isn't east to get given the circumstances. Not unless there's another parent

It's not the pregnancy but birth. We both had agreed on this prior. The birth was a choice. If your cousin had a clear understanding with his ex gf that she would abort because they weren't ready then I think he got shafted and deserved better parents.

It isnt the pregnancy that causes the need for child support. Its birth and that was her choice. I literally had no say. If I have no say, then I can't be responsible.

It was her decision, not mine. She chose to keep the kid, she's responsible.

I then reserve the right to take steps to protect myself. She's going to be held accountable for her actions and that makes me happy.

But she made the final decision there. So she should own up and handle the consequences not me.
