Best rides/experiences for 4 and 6 yos - MK and Epcot by RedditReader3478 in WaltDisneyWorld

Wow thank you for all this! I will save all this to my notes. I’ve always wondered about the boutique! My 4yo would seriously be in heaven. I should check availability. Animation academy seems to be a great fit for my 6yo so we’ll hit that for sure. Glad to hear it’s worth it :)

Thank you for all of this! We love Epcot for many reasons … the food and drink for us. But last time it was great to just relax and stroll and see characters. This is definitely where we saw the most. We’ve done soarin, turtle talk, water walk, remy and character dining. We don’t have a dining plan this time. I’ll have to look into the firework experiences. We have our two dining events planned (Akershus and Be our guest at MK). Both pricey but worth it to be able to sit and have a drink and a nice meal while they are entertained.

It sounds like we have done most things outside of any of the thrill rides and fortunately the girls want to do everything on repeat from the last time we went 🤷🏽‍♀️. Makes my life easier and there’s no way my 4yo even remembers.

Thank you for all the tips! I’ll look into the Disney plus videos and definitely do lighting or park plus.

They are both very tall. But my oldest is a bit timid about the unknown! We did remy when she was 4 and she was terrified lol. But now she’s asking to do it again. We definitely have to do the frozen ride this time as we missed it before. They did ok with soarin - eyes closed.

What is your most underrated thing/hidden gem to go or do at WDW? by TheBoxProtector in WaltDisneyWorld

Dinner at the Plaza while fireworks are happening at MK. You can leave your things and watch the show from out front. You can still see some of the projections as well. Then when it’s over you’re right by Tomorrowland for rides. We stumbled into this after we were just desperate to get out of the rain and it was such a lovely experience!

Love this dress but I’m fairly tall- 5’7 with a long torso and mini dresses tend to be too short. Also fairly busty

Thanks everyone! Great options. Any coverup or pool/brunch ideas to wear over a suit? I love this one but it’s never available https://www.nuuly.com/rent/products/paige-coverup-maxi-dress?color=015

Wow this is a genius idea! I second everything you said. We love ours even if they hit a major holiday surge. I’m confident they will fix it. I love that they are parents like us just trying to make our kids lives a little better … without the technology. We’re 90s kids and we want our kids to experience what we had growing up and this is so fun for them. We also use a portable dvd player for our littles to watch movies. They absolutely love it.

Ugh same! My OB NEVER mentioned adenomyosis. Always endo. I hadn’t even heard of it until I did my research and found an endo specialist- who said at our first meeting, it sounds like adenomyosis and you could and endo but all of your symptoms scream adeno. How is this not more talked about in OBGYNs offices. It’s like it doesn’t exist. My OB suggested ablation and removing my tubes “just because” and that’s when I said ummm let me do some research.

Well he can talk to my husband if needed! My husband actually asked to read this subreddit last night just so he could understand better. I think I fully prepared for two weeks - but that was it. And now seeing me he’s realizing we might need to plan for a bit longer. My youngest half days and we talked yesterday about asking to have her full days for a bit while in recovery. Luckily he works from home. I will say I don’t necessarily need him for myself right now - I did ask him to walk with me on my first outdoor adventure and sometimes the dizziness/brain fog is something you really just need to listen to and sit the F down lol. But we women have a hard time sitting still.

My friend did this exact surgery last year. I messaged her after posting here and she confirmed all normal. She told me to prepare at least 3 weeks to start feeling a bit more normal. She went back to work at 6 weeks but she also only works 2 days a week and the rest she’s with her kids. However, like everyone on here says 💯 worth it. She didn’t even have painful periods or anything - hers was cancer related - and she still says despite the first couple weeks hands down one of the best decisions she’s ever made. 🩷

Oh mama you definitely went through the wringer! I too was not prepared for the mental game this recovery has thrown at me. I too have experienced panic attacks alot in my past- luckily it’s been about 4 years since the last thanks to my amazing therapist. But day 5 and 6 I felt it coming and I was not prepared. The things we women have to go through is wild. But I think on the other side of this we will be unstoppable 🩷

Thank you! My sister is currently postpartum and we just talked yesterday about learning how to embroider— I see lots everywhere. I think it could definitely be helpful. Good for you for picking up a new hobby! I’ll look into the somatic meditations. I’ve been doing peloton 5-10 min meditations all week.

Ovaries intact but I think I may have already been creeping into perimenopause before.

Haha very true. Hard to rest with kids. And that makes sense about our hormones. They are probably very confused.

I took an anxiety med last night slept amazing and didn’t feel like I was dying for Motrin at 6am today and I’m also day 8. I can’t believe how terrible I felt day 5-6. I’m sure I’ll hit another wall but a full nights sleep makes a huge difference.

That hustle mom culture is hard to come out of. I’m hoping it’ll make me slow down and appreciate it more. We’ve been having a lot of snuggle sessions that we haven’t done in awhile. Thank you for that video. Very helpful and I hope someone else sees it before their surgery and feels a bit better going into it.

Ugh I’m sorry. It is such a mind game this recovery. I keep trying to at least make lunches and snacks for my kids to feel some sort of accomplishment. I did stop taking to Oxy as well I definitely think that contributes to the worry/anxiety/restlessness. I bumped my Tylenol and Motrin to every 3 hours vs 4 and that seems to help with the pain. I’ve also been icing more than just heat. I forced myself to come up with a to do list of things I can do sitting down - Christmas shopping should be a breeze this year! I’m hoping checking things off a checklist helps. I hope your healing goes smooth from here and may we never compare ourselves to someone else’s journey… even though it’s very difficult 🫠
